Cannot connect R10 to Garmin Express for 4.3 update

I am having issues getting Garmin Express on my PC to recognize my Garmin R10 when I plug it in.

Note that Garmin Express updated when I opened it to the latest version.

Initially I saw my device listed in Garmin Express and it indicated that an update was available. It indicated that I had v4.0 and v4.3 is available. Perfect! So I clicked install. And then a window popped up telling me to plug in device and it couldn't find the device which was connected via usb. Tried many times with no success.

So I decided to try remove my device and re-add the device. No luck. Garmin Express keeps searching for device but cannot find it and tells me to plug it in.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Garmin express and still no luck.

I tried it on another Windows laptop and same result.

Note that the R10 is on, and it has a blinking blue light. I tried to see if it would make a difference if I was connected to my iphone, but this didnt help either.

Appears to me that You may have an issue with the cable?

Nope, the R10 turns on and starts charging when I connect it.

just tried 4 different cables just in case. all cables are charging it when plugged in. red light is flashing and it turns on upon plugging in. does it matter what mode it is in? i.e. blinking blue light (trying to pair), solid blue light, or connected (green/red/flashing white)

Did you ever find a resolution to this problem? I did learn there are USB charging cables and data cables. I also tried multiple cables, just like you. They must all be charging cables only.

I ran into the same issue. It's the cable. You have to use a data cable, not one that's only for charging.

Same issue. The device charges (red light on the back lights). But PC said not connected. Tried 6 different cables, 2 pcs and 5 usb ports, all charge but don't connect. Please Help!

I have the same problem and it is NOT the cable. I purchased a new DATA cable that was suggested to me on this form the device still does not connect to the PC. Save your $6 trying this fix!
