I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
I want to love this thing had such high hopes and as is has become an enormous let down.
I am not a programmer by any sense of the imagination. I also have no idea how hard it would be. But they need to make an indoor mode and an outdoor mode. Make the indoor mode calculated. They give you a penalty when you are in the rough by 10 percent on home tee hero. I am sure its not simple however, just do the same for indoor mode to get the distances in a some what respectable zone. Rumor is there will be a calibration option being added to the software in a few weeks as per the garmin rep told me in an email, hopefully it helps.
I would like to know that as well, Garmin here is your chance.
I personally think it not meant for indoor use at this time. The R-motion was so much better for indoor but it was shutdown so sad. The R10 I pack so much and will win automatically but I was wrong. You can't even play the simulator with those distance.
@Godspell,
Yes, I did a fitting at 2nd swing last month for a P790 and my 7i is at 165-170 roll distance give or take on track man.
Fair enough. This guy's irons are is coming in quite close when putting it up against an EYE XO:

His driver is definitely short, but hit hits some pretty long balls. I have found drives below ~230 carry range to be pretty on point.
I hadn't seen instances since 3.60 came out of the R10 shorting irons when put up against another launch monitor.
I'd be super wary about numbers from 2nd swing. If it's the same setup as they use on the youtube channel there's some major setup issue as they're claiming to get 200+ yards of carry with a 7 iron off a 90mph swing which is just complete nonsense, even with hollow body loft jacked irons.
I’ve been focusing on getting the face of the R10 perpendicular to the target line. Seems critical for accuracy of angles reported by the unit as well as shot shape.
Thanks for the follow up on tilt.
i keep coming back to if it has something to do with what you're hitting into indoors. The doppler tracks the ball until when? Perhaps until there's a very rapid deceleration. If that's the case then hitting into a net that has a slower deceleration of ball (vs. a harder screen with less give) might cause the unit to track the ball for "too long" and during the initial deceleration as the net slows the ball down. Instead of stopping the tracking immediately upon net impact. Tracking it too long would have the effect of lowering the distance.
if anyone has tried different target surfaces i'd be interested in knowing the result. i'll try to think of how i can test this too.
I like that theory
there's a guy on ETSY who made a stand that fits in the Garmin case. He also made a video on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch
You’re probably that guy selling them because you keep mentioning it.
