Scorecard Issue when recording more than one player

I used my G80 for the first time yesterday in a medal, and decided to also record my playing partners round as well as mine. Both scores were recorded in-full, and saved at the end of the round, before syncing with the Garmin Golf app on my android phone.

When I got back to the clubhouse, I noticed that although my score had been recorded in my recent rounds, when I actually clicked on the round info, there was no information whatsover - just the overall score - and each hole had no score, or number of putts/fairway direction information.

When I returned home, I played around with the device, and entered scores as if I was playing, and discovered that when recording one round, all of the round information is transfered when synced with the Garmin Golf app. Yet as soon as you enter more than one player, all you get is the overall round total, and no other data such as your score on each hole.

Not an issue with the app, an issue with the software on the device, so an update would be appreciated in due course.

  • I owe you an apology. Just played a Stableford with a mate, and for the first time ever, I can see his score next to mine when I synced to the Garmin Golf app. Not sure why, and when we played strokeplay on Saturday his score didn't sync, whereas today, it did?

I accidentally recorded a score of mine against my mate.. and I too noticed in the app that the stats were recorded under his name.... But we haven't had an app update yet so slightly confused.. but intrigued to find out what the resolution is going to be... For avoidance of doubt, Chris @ Garmin has responded to my query and has been very helpful so far.

  • Ditto with Chris, who has been superb Thumbsup

He did suggest that it could be a hardware issue, but I still think it could be software, and agree that an update is well overdue.

I'd also like to see the option to use the radar button in-round to either bring up the scorecard, or measure shot distance.

Both great ideas and having the option to select either / or when radar is activated would be beneficial also.

  • I have had the exact same issue today. First time out since lockdown and played my best round ever. Once I saved the round on the G80, the app only gives me my gross score. No hole by hole details and completely lost my playing partners data. I just want to work out stableford etc but now have nothing to go on. Considering putting g80 on ebay and going back to old school pencil and scorecard.

    Any advice??

  • I would love to see this multiple player scorecard using Stableford scoring issue resolved by our engineers ASAP. I spend as much time as possible coming into our forums to gather further information that I then pass directly to our Golf engineers.

If you have not already been working directly with me on these specific thread issues, please highlight my name and send me a Private Message. The more specific examples I provide our engineers, often lead to a quicker resolution.

  • i have lost the scores for the group when using G80.. why does the system allow me to keep score and then not keep it to share. we sit down to share the score and nothing there. very embarrassing and sure looks like garmin engineers dont play golf. is there a way to have 2 garmin apps running.. one for my garmin s60 watch and one for the g80 .. or is there a competitors app that sync with the g80.. A solution to this issues is really required to maintain creditability in your products.

Ralph, Im pretty sure Garmin are working on this now, but I noticed that in the connect app on your laptop it will show the score. Login and share this with your playing partners.

  • TOTALLY agree, its just basic and i've just bought a G80... not a good start!!

  • There was a flourish of activity on this a month or so ago, but it's gone a bit quiet sadly.
