for modern Edge devices - double tap on IQ datafields do not ring the bell

Modern Edge devices have got a new feature: double tap „on any screen and on any part of screen“ - so Garmin‘s anouncement - do not work as announced.

If the IQ datafield has touches enabled to do something, the double-taps onto the tap region do not go through onto the native firmware.

But IQ datafields do not support double taps. So, it should be possible to let double taps through to ring the bell. Bell

  • Ah good. I always cross post the links :)

But note that the device forums are "user" forums. Sometimes (depending on device and luck) a Garmin employee notices it, sometimes even comments, but if you want Garmin to know about the bug report it in the Customer Support: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/ and let every other user having the same problem report it too. That's the only thing that might help Garmin realizing there's a bug

  • This bug report is the result of an existing thread:

     Double Tap to ring bell

  • If I were you I would also report this to Garmin related to the device you see this happen. That is maybe the forum for the device (at least other users also can see it) but would also report directly to Garmin customer support. Also don't mention CIQ (at least not at the beginning) because they'll send you here... Just report that you installed x, y datafields (if you can find one made by Garmin it's even better) and the bell doesn't work
