feature-request: add sleep data to the sdk (2025)

Please add sleep related data to the SDK so apps/widgets can read the sleep data (similar to ActivityMonitor.getBodyBatteryHistory(),at least the stages with the timestamps, maybe also the aggregated time for the stages and the sleep score)

I opened this "new" request as requested by and as a continuation of https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/feature-request-add-sleep-data-to-the-sdk .

If you're interested in this feature, please up-vote this.

  • So there is a smart alarm on Vivoactive 6 already? Please share how it works and what we (freaking hopefully) can expect to be on other devices soon.

  • They've just started it, but only in the Vivoactive 6, which doesn't count climbed floors. Can't it be implemented in all Garmin devices? I have a Forerunner 255.

    Regards,

    FMart

  • Just ridiculous that we are here voting for a feature that should be native 10 years ago...

  • I literally created an account on this site just to upvote this feature request!! I switched from Fitbit to Garmin and the smart alarm is the feature I miss most (the only other feature I miss is the steps per hour to discourage long periods of sitting - for the rest, I prefer my Garmin). I miss this feature to the point where I wear both to sleep. Very impractical and from what I've been reading on this forum, sounds like a fairly easy fix... please please please make this happen! :)

That's what I thought would happen (nothing) from my experience both with Garmin and my own work... So now that we established that the advice to open new tickets is not a good one, can we go back to something that works better? Like we can annotate you in existing "tickets" here, then you find the internal ticket and add a comment to it so next week you can prioritize it. Will that work?
