Data field cannot be installed on Fenix 5 APAC

Hi,

I have recently published a test version of a data field and a tester told me that he cannot be installed on a Fenix 5X APAC. (Stryd+ Pace (Beta - Test Version))

This device is listed in the list of supported devices, so installing it should be possible. Also the user told me that his firmware is up to date  ( Software Version 11.00, CIQ 3.1.6. GE  ) and I can exclude the fact that he don't know how to install a data field (he is also a developer of IQ applications).

Our supposition is that the problem is caused by the APAC edition of the Fenix 5X.

Does anybody had such kind of issues?

Can some of you test if they are in the same situation? (Install and remove the field without using it is enough for testing)

Thanks,

Sébastien

  • Is it that the DF isn't getting installed after the store says the FW is ok?  Have you just given it some time or synced using Garmin express?  If it doesn't show as installed, it could be it just hasn't been sent to the device yet.

  • Hi, am the "user" in this case.

The app store shows "You need to have a compatible device in your account before sending content to it." even though Fenix 5S is listed as compatible and my Fenix 5S APAC is of course registered to my account.

Have no issues when downloading other apps like Moxy, Humon or my own power meter apps that require the same permissions and all these app should be below CIQ 3.1.6 shown on the device - so no idea what could be different.

    • Send/receive data via ANT radio to/from third-party sensors
    • Record additional information into activity files

It seems there are other apps from the same developer that I cannot download.

    Maybe languages?

  • possibly an older SDK.  From the 3.1.9 SDK, looks like the fenix5x APAC needs 19.10 firmware.

  • The language was set to English and French. Is not English the fallback?

  • That doesn't matter.  It's based on the device and FW level.

What is the main FW on your device?
