Can’t add sensors to simulator

In simulator, Settings -> Manage sensors -> Add

Nothing shows up. Am using a Garmin ANT+ antenna that I use with my Tacx Neo, or a CooSpo USB dongle. In both cases trying to add a sensor results up in ‘No sensors four. Retry?’ message. Retrying achieves nothing.

Have tried to pair a Garmin HRM dual (ANT+/BLE), a Varia radar/rear light and a Varia front light, can’t add any of them.

Either I’m doing something wrong or the simulator is broken. If it’s the first case then surely some instructions should be supplied, or if it’s the latter case then this really needs fixing ASAP as interacting with the sensors is a pretty basic requirement.

    Thanks for the reply, I had come to that conclusion :-(. I realise that there are already bug reports about this fault but I thought (hoped?) that rasing another might attract some attention from Garmin.

    I've only been looking into using the SDK for a few days but I have already come the the disappointing conclusion that Garmin are not serious about 3rd party apps (/widgets/DFs etc) extending their platform.

    The documentation is woeful and even basic tooling like a functioning simulator should work without the need to slow the development cycle to a crawl by having to load software to a device in order to run even basic tests.

  • There are a number of bug reports of this over the years.  Mac and PC, and various SDKs....

    In my case, with a Tempe, I can use it in an app but  it doesn't show as a paired sensor.  A Garmin HRM can be paired however.  These are my only ANT devices.

    Your best bet is to test on a real device instead of the sim.
