We have a hot fix that has been released and verified for iOS (4.22.2).

Broken settings in Connect 4.22 for iOS

Watchface settings stopped working in the latest Connect app for iOS (4.22) release. You cannot customize watchface by its settings. Settings are not saved and default settings are always used. I tested it with three different watchfaces.

Until 4.22 version there was an issue with date settings only (https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/discussion/162728/settings-broken-again/888235#888235), now settings are not working at all.

  • Email template that I've been using with my users.  Seems to resolve their issues.

    Enjoy!

    Hi,

      Thank you for your email.

Garmin just broke the watch faces settings for their Connect IOS app.

To resolve this, uninstall the face ( DO THIS STEPS OR IT WON’T WORK ) and reinstall them but by using their new "Connect IQ" IOS app.

Hopefully Garmin will release a fix for this in a timely matter.

    Cheers!

  • Aware but not working on the weekends so maybe a fix in a few weeks?

  • Quick test results:

Changing a watch face settings then saving it using the Connect app will corrupt both the connect app AND the connect iq app settings for that watch face.

Here comes the hate mails for the weekend...

  • Same issues... Starting to receive a lot of emails regarding this.

Seems that I can set the settings and save them (Not sure if they get applied), then I get "There was an error retrieving the settings from your device. Try again?" error.

Seems to do that for all faces.

The new Connect IQ app seems to also be affected.

Any chances we can get some updates on a fix from Garmin side?

  • Connect IQ Store app sends the binary directly from the app to the device.
The Connect app downloads the binary from the app store. That is the difference between the two and why the Connect IQ Store app works.
