app that do almost nothing (draw some text every minutes) consumes a lot of battery

but yes, one timer start by pressing button invokes every minutes function that 

- inc values

- call requestUpdate

onUpdate() draw few texts

What are you doing in your simple app?  Timers, display updates. etc..
