Watchface: Heliocentric

Thanks for downloading Heliocentric.

Whether you're an astronomy buff or not, this watchface can provide a unique perspective on things. In the solar system view, for example, when the earth is at the 12 o'clock position relative to the sun, it is the winter solstice. As Earth proceeds counterclockwise around the sun, the other seasons begin at 9, 6, and 3 o'clock.

Any feedback is welcome.

    Thank you!
I'm working on my own watch face with a sunlight terminator (on an equirectangular projection of the Earth), and moonphase. It's actually ready, but I want to clean up a bit the code before I release it. I'll send the link when I publish it. It will be open source.

And, here's my watch face! I've made the code available here: http://datawillconfess.blogspot.com/2016/03/open-source-connect-iq-face-for-garmin.html
Sorry that I just compiled it for Vivoactive. Everyone, feel free to modify and publish.
It has a sunlight terminator and a lunar phase picture. All calculations are made in the app. Not every minute, but more efficiently. The terminator and the moon are self contained in their own classes.

    Best regards,
    Boyan

  • Fenix 3 HR

Hi, Heliocentric is a cool watchface, thanks. I used to have it installed on my Fenix 3 HR but I lost it when I tried to update. Now it doesn't seem to be available for the Fenix 3 HR, only the Fenix 3. Is there such a big difference between them?

Tony, apparently the watch face didn't get ported to the HR automatically when it came out; I took a look at it on the HR in the simulator but for some reason it doesn't seem to draw properly. I'm not sure why exactly since the screen resolution is the same as the original Fenix 3. We might need someone at Garmin to help explain why this is the case since I would think everything would draw in the same spot on the new watch.
