HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.
This page could be useful.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.

According to http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=7623 apps should work on the fenix. I have provided a new build, so you might like to try again.

You require version 2.5. Available here.
  • Anyone had any luck with fenix3 and 2.3 firmware?

I don't know. The firmware page says you require minimum 2.8. So is 2.3 a typo on their part, or have they rolled back?
  • 2.3 is the last official firmware. They rolled back. I personally have never had a chance to go to 2.9 (shipped with 2.3 and no update is availbe)

Hi - I'm getting very different values with different HRM straps.

For the Garmin one HRV is in the 88-90 range
However with a wahoo Tickr X it is half that.

    Is that expected?

I'm also getting different results. This is right after each other within a few minutes.
Wahoo Tickr - Average HR 47, HRV 63
Garmin Heart rate Run - average HR 46, HRV 42

Without being able to see the ant data being sent from each device I am unable to to tell you exactly what is happening. Incidentally, are you using the latest version 0.9.1? The 0.9 version did not have much in the way of error checking. 0.9.1 will only process an interval if it meets enough requirements to (hopefully) ensure it is not getting a rouge reading, or seeing repeated data. If the devices do not pump out exactly the same data then you can expect a different result. I plan to include a fault report at the end of a test (the data will not be carried on into the result) which will tell you how much time data was not recorded due to a/ bad link with strap & b/ bad detection of pulse or incorrect data. The STRAP & PULSE indicators are already there to provide you with a live indication of what is happening, they turn red when there is a problem. Please keep in mind that this app is still beta.

I downloaded the program this afternoon so I assume it's the latest version. I realize it's beta. I'm just reporting what I'm seeing. I have 4 different heart rate straps and I use them all depending on workout.

If you can find the time maybe you could test all 4? That might highlight if a particular strap differs from the others. Presently the only way to tell if you have the current version is visually. If the screen looks like the new version then it must be.
