HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.

To get the results data you must place a *.TXT file in the /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS folder, where * is the name of the .PRG file in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. On my device it is A6227C9B.PRG so I would create file /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT I am not yet certain if the name is unique to a user, or consistent Garmin wide.
If unsure which file belongs to HRV then navigate to /GARMIN/APPS/DATA and find the data file associated with the app. Open the files in a text editor. You should see "HRV" in readable characters near the start.

The results are in CSV format.
ISO 8601 Date & Time, HRV, PULSE, AVG HRV, AVG PULSE
Note that the averages are 30 day averages, and are based on this reading, and the saved readings of the previous 29 days.

So just spent three days reading and reviewing this thread as I've just ordered my Fenix 3 and this will be the first thing I add to my unit.

I'd like to say to the developer, SHARKBAIT_AU, you are a super patient person as there are many circular questions being posted. These are questions that have previously been addressed. Good on you for spelling it out, several times to these people.
Anyway. Eagerly awaiting my F3 so I can begin using the HRV app. I think this will pair nicely with my Training Peaks data.

    Peace out.

    Weird problem HR monitor

After the 3.4 firmware, HRV app still works and connects to my old HR monitor but all other apps can't connect to my HR monitor. I don't know if it's 3.4 FW related or not. I don't think my HR monitor is broken. I have 2 and can pair them both but neither of them connects with garmin apps, only this App.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi
I checked both my HR monitors are status searching when I don't have them near by. If I put one on, it goes to Not Connected. If use the HRV app, I can see that it read my HR just fine and performs as expected. I don't think this app is causing the problem I'm just at a loss for why it does not connect except with the HRV app. It's oddly timed with the recent 3.4 update in firmware. Before the update everything worked fine. I've hard reset twice now with no success. I can't seem to find a way to rollback to 3.3

Please ignore last post. I figured out that even though the battery was new it was no good. got a new battery and it worked. also left the battery out for about 20 min for what it's worth.
  • in short: I love the app.

One small suggestion for improvement: Please make the figures BIGGER! After awakening and testing, I cant read what the numbers are, so I first get up, go to the bathroom and then I am able to read whats on the screen.

Maybe its the first indicator that I will need glasses in short, but ...

What device are you using? I believe the Fenix, Vivo & Epix fonts don't match what developers get to see in the simulator. They are the right size in the simulator, but as far as I know, display smaller on all but the 920. When the CIQ SDK & the hardware match, you will get bigger numbers.

What steps do you take to use the app (from start to finish).
I had it but was never able to really figure out how to use it.
I would wake up and it would seem that I had really not captured any data.
When you get a free moment, could you walk me thru the steps (as an end user) from the time you start it and lay your head to the pillow > to the time you wake and read / save the data?
    Thx!!!
