New version - now with mini-map

I have updated the widget so it now includes mini-map:



I am working on heading indication (requested feature) on the map.

I would love to hear from guys with 920XT and vivoactive if the widget still works well on their device. Only tested on Fenix 3.

Hi, this is perfectly normal and is given by GPS (in)accuracy. This is why widget allows you to pause listening for GPS changes.

How is the second screen (the one with the map) activated?

Thanks! Make sure you have the latest version (check that in GCM or GE). Then on Fenix 3 press START, on 920XT press ENTER and on vivoactive tap screen. If it does not work, something is broken :-). What device do you have?

Hi, nice app! On the Vivoactive, when I tap the Position screen, it toggles between Pause and Active rather than going to the map. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Hi, I think you have the previous version. Try to update it manually using GCM or GE. Let me know if it helped or not. Thanks, David

Great work!!

For me, this would have immense utility if it had two additional features: 1. if the U.S. states were outlined on the map, and 2. if you could zoom in on the map (particularly if in the U.S. and flying over the states).

I've been looking for a basic basemap workaround, and outlined an option here:

Thanks for feedback, notes taken. I plan to add few other maps later. Will start with US and Europe obviously. I am very limited in number of maps and their size due to storage & memory limitations.

This app is just my hello world on the platform. I would like to build something much more usefull for hiking, outdoor & travelling generally, and I am just testing water here :-)

Digital Compass

Hi.
What I would love to see (and maybe somebody asked for this already) is a digital compass. The idea is when I am in the wood (as an example) I can save the "starting point" and then somewhere on the trail request the compass to direct me to the "starting point". That is not the navigation. That is just an arrow that show you the way to the "point". I know that is not for mountains but still can be very helpful when NO cellphone connections.
