  • RHR Record

I have installed app on my Fenix 3. Is there a way to record over a period of time? For example, overnight, to get lowest HR.
    Thanks; ronb

Currently this application doesn't do that. I would suggest if your looking for something like that configuring an application that doesn't use GPS and let it run over night. This will record the value for you and also allow you to lock the screen/buttons so that during the night you don't accidentally stop the recording. I will add this idea to the list of possible enhancements as well.
  • I feel a bit silly asking this, but I downloaded the widget. How exactly do I use it on a Forerunner 235? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 235 watch. I downloaded the RHR app, and then went to the GC mobile app>more>Garmin Devices>Forerunner 235> Connect IQ Apps>Applications>RHR Log>Settings>. Then I chose a chart color and clicked Save.

Now, where do I see/activate this on my actual watch? There's no monitor to connect since the 235 has an OHRM. There's no place where I see to select Start. I'm sure I'm just missing something, but I can't seem to find it on my own. :-)

UPDATE: Never mind. I figured it out. :-) I see that you need to go into an activity on the watch and start it from there. I was looking for it to be an additional watch screen that you reached by simply scrolling down from the main face. Hope this helps someone else too!
  • Not working on fenix 3 HR with optical sensor

Hi, I've installed the app but after starting it, it doesn't seem to get beyond the first screen. Does this work with the optical sensor or only the chest strap?

The application should work fine on devices with a OHRM. Can you confirm your running the latest firmware and is this a FR235 or Fenix3 HR?
  • I've connected to garmin express and updated it before I tried running the app. I'm not really convinced my OHRM is working properly. Its a new watch but the results from it seem awful.
Edit: scrub that. The OHRM wasn't working properly but only because I messed up a beta software install. All sorted now :-)

Working fine here on a FR235 with latest updates (4.2 and 2.60)... The start screen showed a 'Connect a HR monitor to start' for a bit while I did have the green lights from the OHR but guess it was still adjusting and finding the proper HR as it worked after a few secs and now almost right away.

    Not working with VAHR

It looks like it wants an external HR monitor but shouldn't work with the the Vivoactive HR's built in HR?

At this time, the application works with an external HR monitor because the current firmware has some issues communicating with CIQ about the integrated HR monitor: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?350783-vivoactive-hr-not-starting-the-optical-sensor-for-CIQ-apps. Once that issue is both HR sources will work with this application. Sorry ... :(

    Hey lcj2.

Not sure if you're still updating this application, but could i ask for a vibrate on start (not just end)? I use this in the morning laying in bed when i'm still half asleep. A buzz would tell me i've started the recording properly.

Also, any chance to have a black background as an option? I think the Fenix is the only watch where the user can change the background; most other Garmin watches rely on the dev to implement this. Again, i use the app upon waking and the room is usually dark. Black is much easier on the eyes.

Alternatively, any thoughts to making the code public? I'd be happy to modify my own version (i develop the Snapshot data fields, plus a host of non-public fields for my own use). Also share the changes back to you for you to implement if you'd like, no problem.

    Thanks.
