Please use this thread to discuss the single data fields. Links to other support resources for these data fields are listed here:

• from the watch face do the following:

1. Click the top right button once to enter activity selection
2. Use the up arrow to scroll through the activities till you get to the one you want to customize (probably run or bike), only scroll, don't enter the activity
3. Select Menu > Activity Settings > Data Screens.
4. Select a screen.
Some screens can only be turned on or off.
5. If necessary, edit the number of data fields. <== should be one data field
6. Select a data field to change it. <== should be the Single Field
• Just a quick note to express thanks for this App. Just left you a good review.

Had a bit of trouble when I installed the new version this morning -- though I don't think it bears on the issues referenced above. My problem was that the app updated, then the 920xt fell into a sync loop. It would go through half of a sync cycle and then freeze (with the progress bar 1/2 way to done). The field would appear on the watch, and seemed to function. But as soon as you pulled the usb cable, the Express App would start looking for the watch and trying to sync again.

Things that didn't help:

1. Manually Re-syncing several times.

2. Removing and reinstalling either new version of the app (single field or sf run), which I now understand are currently identical.

What did work . . .

1. Apparently, I needed to manually update the Garmin Express App (the one that lives in the system tray). Select the "gear" icon -- top right. Check for updates. Accept and install update.

That seems to have cleared the problem.

This is probably a rudimentary problem that may well have little or nothing to do with the Data Field. But just in case this shows up elsewhere, this seems to fix it.

Current version appears to be 5.7.0.0

Single Field, meanwhile, is easily my "most used" 3rd party software add, and it materially increased the utility of my 920XT. I'm not really a huge fan of the dozens and dozens of watch faces (not down on them, just not my thing), but this makes much better use of the screen real estate on the 920 than the Garmin Default screens.

Dear Creater,

I installed your app, however, it doesn't work for me and I don't know why. I hope you can help me with this.

This is the screenshot from my vivoactive 3 when I selected the data field and start the running app.

Thank you.community.garmin.com/.../1301442.jpg
• Where is Single Data Field supposed to show up? I've installed it on my vivoactive 3, and when I go into settings for a run, it's not available as a data field to add.

This is vivoactive 3 bug, it was fixed by firmware 3.4.

FTR, after resyncing and switching to 1-field layout, it showed up.
• This looks like the view I've been waiting for, awesome :)

I'm not sure about the CAD (Cadence?) field though, why would I need that? How does that help me?

Cadence is the number of steps per minute you make while running. It's one of the measurements that some devices support to help you gauge your performance. If you Google for "why measure running cadence?", you'll find a number of articles which explain what cadence is and why it's useful to think about.
• Hi,

I use this data field on a FR 645 and I love it!

Is it possible to have not just one such data field, but two, and configure them differently? I can have this "single field" twice in my running app, but I can't find how to configure the two differently. The idea is to have one display the overall distance, time and average pace, and the other one display the lap distance, lap time and lap pace.

Thanks.
• Excellent data field! Many thanks for it! I have FR230. Very useful 5s or 10s speed for rowing. I look forward adding options lap time, lap distance instead elapsed time, distance for FR230. Thanks.
