Please use this thread to discuss the single data fields. Links to other support resources for these data fields are listed here:

  • The whole "updating circle" thing on the 23x/630 started with the 6.10 FW, and it's impacted many things - It's a FW problem and it seems to cause many issues. They've since released 6.20 and 6.30 FW (all within a week...) but no fix yet for this.

There are a number of complaints about this in the 230/235/630 forums....

Cool, thanks for sharing. I've never played with the forums here before, just know that Garmin is really bad at writing software. I mean, it took them 4mos after releasing the 235 to have a stable fw for it. I love how it's a known issue and yet support is having me wipe my device, waste my time, etc. They're as bad as the incompetent developers writing the fw!

Glad it's not just me. I've not tracked the forums here before. Annoying that Garmin support had me wipe the device and reinstall stuff. Seems their standard response for everything, even when it's a known issue with the fw. I shouldn't be surprised given it took them 4+ mos to produce a reasonably stable fw for the 235 after it was released. Can't decide who's more incompetent: Garmin developers or Garmin support. Oy...

    Lap Average Pace

Not sure if it has become available in a newer release of the ConnectIQ SDK, but it would be great if the pace shown could be the average over the current lap.

The ability to track lap actions was added to the SDK but does require more than a simple ask for the data to implement. Once some work on another project is completed, I will be revisiting the data field and getting some enhancements made. Thanks for the support!
  • This is probably the only "one screen" datafield that I can actually read while running (just!).

What would make this one perfect (for me) is having:
    - HR displayed in % of max rather than bpm
    - lap pace (instead of average or 10s average)

    I would pay for these!!

Thanks keep up the good work!

If you can provide the watch model I can provide steps to get it configured. The issue you describe is that the screen need to be configured from multiple field layout to single field layout.

    Probably a dumb question.. but..

I am new to my Fenix 3, I have installed this app.. but cant seem to find where to "activate" it/... i am still seeing the old display.

I am sure i am missing something simple, just need to know where that might be.

    Cheers

Once installed you can configure it using the following steps. Configure layout to be one field and select Single Run Field as the choice for that field.
    1. Hold UP.
    2. Select Settings > Apps.
    3. Select the activity to customize. (Choose "Run" for example)
    4. Select Data Screens.
    5. Select a data screen to customize.
    6. Select an option:
    • Select Status to turn the data screen on or off.
    • Select Layout to adjust the number of data fields on the data screen. <== adjust till you see one field
    • Select a field to change the data that appears in the field <== select single run field

Let me know if this gets you going. Once configured you can adjust the settings through Garmin Connect Mobile.
