Possible to display a Timer data field on watch face?

Is it possible to have a watch face on the Garmin Fenix series of devices that displays the time remaining on the active timer, right on the watch face?

Similar to how Apple does it with Apple Watch timer app and complications.

  • Also, re: the convo with the normie runner -- there was someone with us who was also wearing a Garmin. The whole thing was sparked when he asked us why we wear Garmins. She said "well it's kinda because Garmin was there first."

I just don't think Garmin can rely on all their existing customers to be loyal forever.

  • I  use timers all the time at work and often the stopwatch as well. How hard can it be to have the fenix 7 do all the great stuff it does and have easy accea to timer and stopwatch on the watch face.
I want to use my Fenix 7 as an all purpose watch but am finding the inelegance and inconvenience of  accessing the timers is an unnecessary annoyance.

if Apple can do it then Garmin can figure out a way to fit as well.

New to the Fenix 7 so hoping I learn to love it anyway and t that Garmin can fix this as it seems I’m not the only one wanting these features

  • Sure, it would be nice to have the option to include timer and stopwatch data fields on custom watch faces. However, I've found a convenient workaround that works well for me: I've set the timer function as a hotkey (by long-pressing the back button in my case) for swift access. To do this, long-press the up button -> System -> Hotkeys. This workaround provides a seamless way to access timer functionality without compromising convenience.

  • I have a Forerunner 965 and I just customized it to have the timer widget on the watch face. I use my timer a lot - multiple times every day, so this is a huge improvement. I'm not sure if this applies to other Garmin watches, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to do this last year when I bought the watch so maybe it came with a recent update? In any case, you should try again. For the 965, the widget looks like a stopwatch, but it's actually the timer feature. There may be a stopwatch widget, too - if so, the icons are probably very similar.

    Timer widget

  • Interesting.  That capability is not on the Fenix AFAIK. So instead, I use the Timekeeper 3 watchface which has both a timer & stopwatch function.
