Problem with Connect IQ Store (Chrome & Edge) - empty pages after page 4

I honestly don't know where to report this problem, so if any of you have an idea of a better location than this section then please suggest.

I am unable to preview the applications after page 4. All pages from page 5 onwards are displayed as blank. This applies to any of the application sections and any sorting

  • As a casual user, I always access the IQ Store from within Garmin Express. This allows me to see only the apps for my watch and avoids annoying messages like "This app is not supported by your device".

I've never had this problem with the Descent MK1, but as I haven't changed anything else on the watch after finding my favourite apps I don't know since when this problem has existed. After switching to the MK2 version I set off to the IQ Store to search for new stuff (from within Garmin Express) and suddenly encountered this problem....

By the way, I think that I am not the only user who searches the shop in this way, hence the idea of creating my post, because I think that this is a big limitation for the user.

Thank you for taking up the subject, maybe the problem will be noticed and eventually fixed :)

  • Have you tried the Connect IQ mobile app>  There you select a device, and with the search you can see the list based on app type, most popular, most recent, etc.  I've not reached the end of the apps for device apps yet.

  • Thank you for suggesting this, but yes, I did. Frankly speaking, the limits of the applications that can be displayed there were the reason why I directed my steps to the web version. There were never any limits there. On the phone app, the list of, for example, watch faces that appear to me is limited to a maximum of 30-40 items, after which it simply ends. I know, however, that there are more than that.

  • In the case of the MK2, it could be that's all there is. I don't support the mk2 with many of mine for example.

  • It's worth noting that they said "I know, however, that there are more than that. "

Just out of curiosity, I checked, and the Connect IQ web search UI indicates there are 50 pages of results for MK2 watchfaces (regardless of whether you sort by Most Popular, Most Recent, or Highest Rated.) Of course, as discussed in this thread, the results actually stop after the 4th page.

If we combine this fact with the other discussion about the large amount of "spam" apps in the store, maybe it's not a great idea to limit results to 30-40 *items*, as that could easily represent the output of a single dev (spammer or not).

  • As a counter-example, even though Google is well aware that almost nobody clicks past the 1st or 2nd page of results, that doesn't stop them from allowing you to do so....

And they certainly wouldn't show a link for page "20" of results (for example), then give you an error message if you clicked on it.

EDIT: Okay I was half wrong lol. Google won't show more than 1000 results, even if a term has 2 million available results. But you only get an error by manually editing the URL to try to show a result beyond what they would normally show. (They won't actually render a page link that won't work, if you just navigate normally)

  • May I ask why you are not supporting mk2? I'm just curious as mk2 is based on Fenix 6X which probably is supported by you.

  • Because I've not added it yet  I often have auto-migration off on some apps.
