custom data fields and custom watch face influence

Yesterday I install custom data field from IQ Store and suddenly my watch face started to crush
- activity
-add custom data field field
-start activity
-back to watch face
-crush watch face
without custom data field everything is ok.
I don't know yet what kind of error is but I'd like ask: is any connection between custom watch face and custom data fields, common memory/background, something what influence each other?

  • what does OP's mean?

Yes, I tried everything what I thought. The last thing it's to reset watch to factory settings but I don't want to set up watch again. Now I have installed only 1 wf 45kB and 1 df 15kB and still crash.
    Maybe it's fw/sdk problem...

Today I've searched all device storage nothing special found only 2 strange files in  EVNTLOGS directory where I can see from time to time:

    - Update Error. Time between updates: 2177 ms

    - 00000000000000000000000000000000 ................

    - Pause Error 14

    - HWM misc  Request Error 0

  • OP = "Original Poster" = you

It's something odd as otherwise there would a bunch of reports of this.

Make sure you use something like one of the mobile apps or Garmin Express to delete things, and don't just manually delete things from apps

  • As I mentioned, I uninstalled everything... Of course I'm awareness user :)
Now, I'm after  resetting to default settings still crash :(
Question: if I choose "remove data and reset settings" data, saved early in Garmin connect will be deleted from it too? They it synchronise to the device after resetting?
It's strange that only I have this kind of problem. Jim, have you installed any custom data field on your watch and test it?

  • I have a whole bunch of custom data field I wrote installed   And I also have some from other developers

Many, many people have CIQ watch faces and CIQ DFs installed on their devices.

This is not a common problem.

  • I've installed your wf and df and still crash. So, I think there is problem rather with my watch (hardware or firmware) or sdk or any old data that wasn't deleted after the reset. I don't know what to do, I'll wait for Garmin maybe they find solution.

The most strange is it that everything is ok with wf originally added to phone in box only installed from IQ store has problem.
I even changed uiid application and put another in store - without positive effects. :(

  • I think you're at the point where you may want to try a factory reset and if that doesn't help, contact Garmin Support.

  • Based on your bug report, what you are seeing isn't a crash, just that you see a native WF if you try to access it while you are in an activity with a CIQ DF.

Nothing wrong here - it's just the way things work due to available memory.
