Widgets for Fenix 6

Thanks Garmin for the SDK update, 3.1.3 allows to get watchface and data fields easily for the new watches, but doing the same job for widgets means some work...

Recompiling an "old" (fr935/fenix5) widget for the fenix6 shows only a small icon and the name of the widget which can be scrolled up and down using the keys but that's it. Does anyone have a small example source code for the new widget type?

In the Sim, if you go to simulation and turn off "glance view," your widget will run in full screen. What you're seeing his how things work on a f6 if you don't have the glance code Coleman mentioned…

Actually, I just realized that a last minute fix that we made disabled the ability to use resource scopes. This won't work (in the simulator or on devices) until we release an update. Sorry for the false hopes guys. The code is there, it is just disabled.

hi !!!!

I've just received my F6 Sapphire !!!! so,'im glad,

BUT!!!!

I noticed that all my own CIQ widget does not work....

the Galnce works perfectly, but when I enter it, it does not work.

I think it is matter of behaviourDelegate, but I'm quite lost....

For a compass widget I did, the glance is ok, the GPS starts etc, but when I enter it it seems the first view does not update...

it work nice on device without Glance and on SIM too

and for the other widget it is like the behaviourdelegate does not start...

help will we great.

See the Programer's Guide, the section on Glances, and part where it talks about Live UI update and Background UI update. Things are different between the high memory devices (the ones with music) and the lower memory devices. You'll see this in the sim with a F6 vs a F6 Pro for example

many thanks, but (unless I did not get you) I'm not talking about the glance view, but the widget view, the first view you get on other device

so It seems it is the it is the

Sensor.enableSensorEvents( method(:onSnsr) ); on the main widget view which does not start when the Widget is "opened"

I use it too on the Glance mode (both oninitialize)

is there any conflict between them?

There I enable SENSOR_TEMPERATURE in both the glance view as well as in full screen.

so, I made a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE mistake on my widget but I don't know why it worked well on my F5.

I just used : Sensor.enableSensorEvents( method(:onSnsr) ); on initialize (wiithout any SENSOR_*)

function onSnsr (info){
Ui.requestUpdate();
}

and on on update: var SensInfo = Sensor.getInfo();
heading_rad = SensInfo.heading;

so now I use a TimerCallback and Activity.getActI.currentHeading.

Once you click on a glance to get into the full screen view of the app, can you use the Up and Down buttons to switch screens? It works in the simulator, but on my 6x Pro the Up/Down buttons do nothing.
