NEU - Zümo XT (Abdeckung)

Hallo Leute,

habe heute das neue Zümo XT montiert, hat alles geklappt, sind ja nur noch Plus und Minus an die Motorrad-Batterie anzuschließen.

Bin aber enttäuscht über die sogenannte Abdeckung. Wie kann man so was machen. Gummitülle über die Kontakte und die ganzen Schrauben von der Halterung bleiben un-abgedeckt.

Erwartet man jetzt im Ernst, dass ich mir Silikon in die Schraubenlöcher mache, damit ich die Schrauben nicht sehe, wenn ich das Navi mal nicht brauche.

Beim Zümo 595 gab es noch eine saubere Abdeckung, die alles schön verdeckt hat. Mann, oh Mann wie kann man so einen Rückschritt machen.

Das Gerät ist Top und bei dem Preis erwarte ich auch eine saubere Abdeckung für Kontakte und Schrauben.

Perhaps something is missing in the language translation, but I don't have any 3D printing business. I am a Zumo XT owner and motocycle enthusiast just like you, who also designs 3D objects to solve problems that I share for free in Thingiverse. Nothing more or less.

No doubt the piece you linked is well worth 11 euros, and that is perfectly fine domestically, but folks in other countries would like one too and it's prohibitively expensive to ship.

Imho, this is a very simple design and certainly not patent-able. I have made my own version, which I have uploaded for folks to print FREE for themselves:

By all means, if you don't have a printer, buy from this fellow. His is a fair price if the shipping is reasonable for you. For those in the US, my design offers an alternative. I will mention, that from what I can see in his photos, there are no chamfers or fillets, so I would anticipate mine fitting better and snapping closed a little better. But for all intents and purposes, they will both do the job.

I will however warn the vendor that selling Harley Davidson branded merchandise is a BIG No-No. Garmin might be more lax on something like this, but not Harley.
