Climbing does not measure gained height since 19.41

Hi,

I usually track indoor climbing activities with max accuracy and was really happy with it.

Unfortunately, with current software version 19.41 the climbed height is not measured anymore. I was going up 4 times 10 meters with measured height gained 0.0 meters.

Further issues: screen got on auto-lock, which it didn't before. The auto-climb feature did not work, which might be linked the the main issue of the height being not measured at all.

I hope this will be fixed soon.

I experienced exactly the same problem. I have a Garmin Fenix7s pro. I have tracked successfully many climbs in the past but currently no ascent is logged and the autostart doesn't work

Your problem sounds like the altimeter is not working properly. Are elevation changes recorded correctly in other activities (or outside of activities)?

A walking activity a few days ago recorded elevation.

I forgot to mention, my climbing partner with a Fenix 7 Pro on 19.41 experienced the same issue with the same tracking history like me with a Fenix 7S Pro. I tried to set the accuracy to standard with no effect.

Okay. Seems like it might be a firmware bug. Then it's probably for the best if you contacted Garmin product support directly to make them aware of this issue.

I don't really understand it, since an update requires restarting, but I turned off my Fenix 7S Pro before climbing and then it worked. Same for my friend with a Fenix 7 Pro. First he started the indoor climbing activity with 0 ascend, after a restart it worked properly.

Could you give some info how you got it working after the 19.41 update?

I've wrote the support in support.garmin.com and will give any update as soon as i have it.
