Garmin Vivoactive HR - Downloaded Golf Course Issue

I can successfully download course through my mobile phone and sync them to my Garmin Vivoactive HR.

When I proceed to the "GOLF" widget, the downloaded course DOES appear after GPS finds it.  When I select the course, instead of loading the hole by hole stats, I receive the following error message "golf course failed to load".  This comes immediately after the message "downloading course".  I only have ONE course downloaded to my device.

  • I am having the same issue. Done all the steps before even coming to this forum. Really bad time for this to happen. Love having this watch when I play.

  • I have given up on Garmin.  Downloaded a free GPS golf app on my phone and moving onward.  Not sure I'll by another Garmin product if this is the type of support you can expect.

  • I have the same issue with the original Vivoactive.  I raised to Garmin support and sent them some system logs, as they requeated.  Below is the response I got (relatively quickly).  Pretty frustrating.  I've asked them to clarify what this means and when/why this happened.  No response.

    After looking further into the issue with the Vivoactive and golf courses, it has been determined that this issue cannot be resolved with updates or troubleshooting.

  • Just make the previous operating system available - it worked fine!!

  • You are kidding! Why would we buy another Garmin product if this is the way we are treated. Revert the code, fix the problem. Or refund. Bought in good faith, service support bad...

  • Yep, I have the same on my Vivoactive HR! The only reason I got it was for the added golf function. How the hell can they render a function completely useless with no explanation? Here's a TV but after a year we will remove a couple of channels....that ok yeah? 

  • Hi, same for me.. Although for some reason, when I'm at home I can load my course, but when I'm there 6 miles away, I get the failed to load message. I have 2 courses at my club and the other one works fine. I also have the vivoactive hr, I've reset both app and watch,  re paired, cleared cache, deleted courses and reloaded, nothings worked so far, please add me to the ticket. 

  • Agree.  I guess 1000's of Garmin users who spent hundreds of dollars on a watch, don't even garner enough respect for a simple, honest explanation of why they disabled the golf function.

    I called customer service, and they told me the Vivoactive HR is no longer supported, and to buy a new watch. 

    So Garmin just rendered all of our Vivoactive HR's useless, and the only remedy is for us to spend hundreds $$ more on a new watch.
