S60/ Garmin Golf Android sync problem.

Garmin s60 uploads new scorecards to Garmin connect successfully by Bluetooth. ...but when I open Garmin Golf (Android) it says I am still playing and gives me the choice of Resume/save/delete. If I select save nothing happens. If I select delete the scorecard is deleted from Garmin golf and connect but not from the watch. If I then upload via usb / Garmin express the scorecard uploads again and the end game dialogue disappears. Is this a known bug?

  • I also have notifications turned off FYI. I got fed up being told I was still playing golf 6 weeks after I'd finished the round, with no way of getting rid if it.

  • I am seeing the other comments and it's probably a combination of issues. I did completely remove the app before installing the latest version so that may have helped. I played another round and the specific issue of it still thinking I was playing after I finished. The only thing I noticed still is that all my shots didn't show up until I synced the watch with Garmin Express through the USB cable on my computer.

  • Does the same thing to me on my s62. Had a shot I fatfingered the wrong club and showed my PW max distance of 250... went back and changed edited the correct club after the round. I do this often as I have bad luck thinking sometimes, or I have rogue shots entered from wracking goose droppings while waiting for the group in front of us. Recently if I enter the scorecard after a round, the app somehow opens it like I was still playing and makes me choose between save ,resume, or discard. If I discard it'll wipe out the whole round, if I save or resume, it loses all my shot data. I can see the shots recorded count on the hole, but my score for all but the first couple holes is gone. Been happing the last month or so. Either have to live with the errors, or just use it for GPS distance only. In the screenshot above I can still see the +10 score from my round on the watch face, but the app thinks I shot a +2. Connecting to computer, reinstalling, resetting watch, disabling notifications all have had no effect. It's making the watch lose the reason I got it, I have a laser rangefinder, I want to track my performance and progress. This year so far is almost a total bust. Scores don't match my paper scorecards, and have changed on the app. Guess we can't touch or modify anything anymore. It's a 600 dollar GPS only unit. Might have to go to skycaddie or arrcos.

  • I have a Fenix 7s and am currently on 2.11.3 and still have the issue. Has been going on for a least a month. I thought it was related to the Fenix beta software, but seems to be more of an issue with the Garmin golf android app. Hopefully they fix it soon. Super annoying.

  • So it's gone back to the basically the same behavior as before. I end the round and save on my watch (Approach S12). The app still says I'm playing and hangs when I either tap resume round or save. This last time I synced my watch directly through the USB and Garmin Express on my computer which showed the scorecard on my Garmin app with all the shots but still was asking me to resume or save the round.

  • I have the problem in my S62. Nevertheless, I've found a way to get around it: after finishing the round in your clock, enter the app in your phone an choose "scorecards", select the last one and then push "edit" in the menu. Edit any scoring, it's enough to increase one shot in any hole and then decrease it to the original score. Then select "edition finished", save, and that's all.

It's annoying but is works, ant least until Garmin solves this silly problem

  • I can confirm this worked, great workaround. I actually opened the app and had a round "in progress" from like 5 rounds ago, edited one score, reverted, saved, and seemed to resolve the issue. Really annoying, but glad someone has a decent fix in the meantime. Thanks!

  • That actually explains why never-ending round often goes away for me later.  I'll explain.  One of the other problems the app has is that it doesn't take my on-course watch selection of fairways hit as gospel.  Rather than listen to what I put in, the app looks at where I take my next shot from.  The problem with that is if the next shot is either:  1. Close to the edge of the fairway and it think I'm in the rough when I'm not (or vice versa), or 2. My first shot was OB or in a water hazard and I had to hit an additional tee shot which went into the fairway.  The app thinks I hit a fairway even though I told it I didn't.  The reason I bring up that separate problem is that I often go into the app after the round and correct those discrepancies by editing the round as mentioned by JCM.  Apparently, it "ends" that never-ending round.

  • I have the same problem for a couple of weeks know. S62.
