Pretty nutty decision, but I am guessing Garmin has access to all the preferences that customers all over the world make which suggests USA being the largest block who have not been able to change to SI…
According to Reddit “The Earth has a population of 7.046 billion. 94.7% of the world uses the metric system by population”
Likewise there are only three countries that DO NOT use metric.
…I have to say, this is an incredible short sighted decision on your part Garmin, and you knew that majority of the world uses metres. Is there no way of having the choice or even two different caches depending…
Yeah, now I see why old tracks keep reapear every sync even though everything cleared from device and on site. It's just buggy and uncomfortable software in every INCH of it.
It's really sad that it's not fixed yet. So I head towards https://calculerunpourcentage.net/
Correct.
To do this Garmin have to change the source map and for some reason that is a problem.
I wonder if Garmin would leave such a glaring mismatch (it's deeper than just the contours, the map UTM is also very limited a few variants of WGS84, in Australia that is more then hundred metres out E & N) live in their military or airline products?
