Heading arrow not aligned with compass?

The blue triangle on the Map page of the Explore app should show the direction of travel even when not navigating. When the map is switched from North Up to Track Up,  the triangle points the direction your phone is pointing. This should be determined by the phone's compass. Does the Garmin Explore app have location permission enabled? Do other mapping applications show the correct direction of travel?

I tried a phone reboot. no change.
Yes app had location permissions. Only for “while using.” I set to “always” and restarted the phone. Made no difference.

So I deleted and reinstalled the app. It re-initiated the location permissions request, to which I once again selected, “while using”

That fixed it. Now it’s aligning with compass.

Last update 4.0.4 install, may have not gone 100% perhaps?

I wondered if it may have been something to do with “Offloading” the app, for memory management point of view. I tried offloading and reloading, but it still worked fine. So cannot replicate the issue.

I spoke too soon. This issue has recurred.
