I'm using Explore on a Samsung A25 with the InReach Mini 2. I've always had problems with the compass in Explore not being accurate, or not moving, across multiple Samsung phones. I thought this was just a limitation of electronic compasses in general, but I recently installed a simple dedicated compass app and it's always accurate and steady. What I've noticed is that if I open the compass app before Explore, the Explore compass works correctly. I've been using it a lot for navigation lately and since I've starting using the two-step process of opening the compass app prior to Explore, the compass in Explore is reliable.
It seems obvious from my experience that Explore is not handling the compass correctly, possibly not waking it from a low power/off state, and that this is a bug. It should be an easy fix and would significantly improve the app. More importantly, this is a major safety concern.
