The list of devices compatible with an Outdoor Maps+ subscription can be found here: www.garmin.com/.../
That's correct. If an app is not listed on that page, the subscription is not compatible with the app.
Yes, the newest version of the Explore app is compatible with Outdoor Maps+. Information is available here: Getting Started With Outdoor Maps Plus in the Garmin Explore App
I could not reproduce the issue. It links to Getting Started With Outdoor Maps Plus on a Garmin Watch
That reduces the value add of Outdoor Maps+ subscription significantly. Any plans to add compatibility to those devices&apps?
Hi Chris. Am reading this right? I have Explore app Android and InReach Mini 2 and do not see Mini 2 on the device list. That makes me unable to use Outdoor Maps with my setup? Thanks!
Or, since the Mini 2 does not have a true Graphical User Interface with a color map type screen, does that then make the "compatible device" essentially the android phone/app, and the "compatibility" of the Mini 2 irrelevant? Thanks!!
The Mini 2 does not have mapping capability so Outdoor Maps+ isn't supported on the Mini 2.
As for the Explore app, the current 3.13.3 version of the Android version of the app doesn't support Outdoor Maps+. The newly released version 4, which is only available for iOS at the moment, does support Outdoor Maps+. I would expect the version 4 app to be available for Android as well, but it is unknown when this will happen.
Current xplore android app is version 4.0.3 and it supports Maps+
Ah ok, I was looking in my local Google Play store and there 3.13.3 was listed as the latest available version. But apparently it is out in the wild already
Hi jarivee. Would you happen to know the answer to my previous question? I am wondering if my Mini 2/ android that is connected by bluetooth will run the Maps+ in the same manner that it ran the old maps. I think the answer is yes but was just looking for confirmation from someone that knows for sure.
At least in Finland it is
I think it should. Mini 2 just sends the location data to Android device with maps+ where location is shown, right? So the actual mini2 does not need any maps+ itself.
Right. There is no color graphic interface on the Mini 2, just monochrome screen. It sends location data to my android phone via Bluetooth. The phone then displays the location data in the form of a color map. I am just going to go ahead subscribe to Maps+. It appears that they have money back guarantee so nothing lost. Thank you for your response!!
