Connect does not update yesterdays data

I use Forerunner 15 (2.40), Garmin Express 3.2.29.0 (recently updated), and Garmin Connect (Firefox) on Windows 7.

Since Saturday (I think) when Forerunner updated its software via express, it does not report yesterdays results
with sync to connect.
The info on Forerunner is still there though. Have not had this problem before.

Whats going on? Bug in the software? Some mistake in my setup somewhere? Any workarounds?
  • I can confirm that a soft reset has seemed to fix my syncing issues. Just make sure you hold the power long enough that the device actually powers off.
  • For me, changed/deleted/reset nothing, except updating GE to .29. It could also be that .29 didn't make any difference. But it's working correctly today.

    In looking around the FR15 files, there is a file called "Garmindevice.xml" in the top level on the FR15 filesystem, than seems to get a new timestamp upon syncing. Maybe (and I'm JUST GUESSING!) that part of the sync process involves updating the xml file with the latest version from garmin. In looking through the xml file, it's got a bunch of stuff about file location and management of the files on the Fr15 filesystem.

    I'm a bit of a techno-phobe. Could someone tell me in very plain speak how I can fix my FR15? I have updated garmin express to 3.2.29.0. I have no idea what all these files are you are all talking about! I'm sick of losing steps and not having my sleep display properly! Help please!!!!
  • No one is quite sure if the problem has been fixed, and there are different views on what happens (or happened) to fix it.

    Best to do right now, is to see if it starts working for you as of tomorrow, and post the results here.

  • I haven't sync'd my device since Wednesday, but just did it today. I now have zero data for Thursday to Sunday and only my steps for today. What a joke
  • 2 days now that the uploads have been working fine. If it is something like a corrected garmindevice.xml, it could be you won't see the "fix" until the second sync, as the fix occurs as part of the first sync.

    Same here. I synched yesterday at noon, then did some steps in the afternoon without synching, and when I synched just now I had both today's and the 'extra' from yesterday in Connect.
    *fingers crossed* things are now ok

    When I synced this morning, my steps for yesterday did not get updated. Is there something else I need to do or do I just have to try it again tomorrow. This is driving me crazy!!

    I tried everything people had suggested previously and unfortunately it didn't work for me.

    I just got a reply from tech support. They suggested updating everything and then disconnecting my device from GE and Garmin Connect and then adding the device back. That also didn't work.

    But then I got a reply from support that they are aware this is a larger problem and it has been escalated to subject matter expert review. I'm not really sure what that means, but they did confirm they are aware this is a wide spread problem and are working on a fix. Unfortunately no eta on when that fix will come though.

    Oh and for the time being, they suggested uploading every night to ensure data isn't lost. Hopefully this will just have to be a temporizing measure.
