Connect does not update yesterdays data

Former Member
Former Member
I use Forerunner 15 (2.40), Garmin Express 3.2.29.0 (recently updated), and Garmin Connect (Firefox) on Windows 7.

Since Saturday (I think) when Forerunner updated its software via express, it does not report yesterdays results
with sync to connect.
The info on Forerunner is still there though. Have not had this problem before.

Whats going on? Bug in the software? Some mistake in my setup somewhere? Any workarounds?

Having the same issue .. Forerunner 15 (v. 2.40) synchronizing with Garmin Express 3.2.26.0 ...

A run from sunday was synchronized properly.
    Step&Sleep-data from Saturaday (31st of Jan.2015) and Monday (2nd of Feb.2015) missing.

Have mentioned that in the german Garmin-Forum but no solution or workaround available yet
    https://forum.garmin.de/showthread.php?48754-Garmin-Connect-Schritte-von-bestimmtem-Tag-nicht-sichtbar

Same issue reported here in US-forum ... found right now:
https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?198817-FR15-Activities-%28steps%29-for-one-day-not-showing&highlight=steps ... also no solution available yet.

We are not alone but don't know a way to resolve.

Glad (?) to see I'm not alone. Since Saturday, 31 January, when I download in the morning, it gives me steps and sleep data since Midnight, nothing since yesterday's partial morning of data.

When going to the Full Page from the Sleep tile and going back to "yesterday's" data, I see a small red alarm clock icon in upper left corner near date. Clicking on it, I get "Looks like you changed time zones. Your charts will make more sense tomorrow." No time zones have been changed within my Garmin Connect profile, my Forerunner 15 or on my computer.

I suspect, trying to fix some other timezone related bug, they have created a new bug in the software.

So close to a real good solution for tracking my cycling (Edge 800), hiking, daily steps and sleep (Forerunner 15) ... if only they could get the software of the web interface right!

    Tom
  • Same thing happening for me. Does anyone know that Garmin are aware and on top of it?

I posted the same problem in the Garmin Express PC forum:
    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?199939-Sync-with-Express-to-Connect-ingores-yesterdays-data
There it was suggested that it is a problem of storage space on the Forerunner.
I am pretty sure though it is not. The data are still available on the device (Protocol .... Steps ... etc)
So it is a problem with sync after recent software "update" (with new bugs ...)
  • I have the same problem with Wednesday's steps. FR15 (my training workout sync fine though).

I'm having the same problem with my FR15. Very frustrating!
  • Glad to see I'm not alone in this. I contacted Garmin over a week ago and finally have a ticket. Not sure what good that will do. Yesterday I purposely did not upload the rest of my data from FR15. So I did sync at 0900 but did not sync again yesterday. Sync this morning and the steps from when I did sync in the am did not sync but the steps are on my FR15. This has been happening for the last 8 days even before I had the software update.
  • Seeing the same thing on the FR 15. My steps yesterday (per the history on the Fr15 itself) is 11045, yet on the steps widget on GC and the steps report, 10480. I synced this morning, and about 500 steps from yesterday are gone.

The FW on the Fr15 is up to date, and there hasn't been a new update in a few months, so this seems to be an issue with the garmin servers.

Update: the widgets match history on the FR15 last friday, but are lower since then (the history on the fr15 is 7 days, so last friday is the oldest on the device)

Same Issue Since Saturday, January 31

I'm having the same issue. I uploaded on Tuesday and all my data from Saturday, Sunday, and Monday does not show up. I then uploaded again today (Thursday) and no data shows up for Wednesday. I'm pretty frustrated. My husband begged me not to get another Garmin after hearing me complain about my last device and I'm starting to think I should have listened. I'm posting a graph of what my count looks like, keeping in mind that I wear my watch every day!
  • Seems that something is broken, and only steps for the day you sync are actually appearing in GC. As a work-around, I think the safe thing to do would be to sync each night right before you go to bed.

I have a Vivofit set up on another GC account and today I'm testing to see if it's also got the problem. (I synced at 1000 steps and won't sync again until tomorrow)
