FR15 Activities (steps) for one day not showing

Hi All

My steps are synchronised to GC for all days except yesterday (Sat 31 January). It looks like GC has not got the data for the entire day because there is no sleep data either. Its like Saturday just never happened. If I look on the watch the steps total for yesterday shows, suggesting it logged it somewhere. Is anyone able to help with how I might get the data uploaded please?

Following deleteing my old .fit files from both the activity and monitor folder followed by a soft reset I can confirm that my end of day steps count has uploaded correctly today. Similar to last month a .fit file was created at midnight (and 2 others at 0200 and 0207 - no idea why that happened as I was not syncing or doing anything particularly active).

So for now it is working.

This is very disappointing to me too.

Nothing since Feb 1 has updated correctly including steps and activities. Even including yesterday I did not sync at all, and when I synced just now it only synced 2K of the 15K steps I took.

From what I am reading, if I want to fix it, I basically have to reset the watch and lose everything right? Therefore, I have basically have lost all history from February. I can ''re-create'' the activities but there is no way to fix the steps. And, no guarantee that it won't happen again.

Makes me want to sell mine and buy a Surge. Meh.

Just now called Garmin, they created a ticket for me, stated they would contact me if further information needed or when they have a resolution. If/when I hear from them, I will post here if I don't see anyone beating me to it.

The data is gone although with significant knowledge you may be able to recover the activity data by undeleting the files and manually uploading them. The watch will have the last 7 days in it's history but you can't upload that to Garmin Connect.

I deleted all .FIT files in Garmin\Activity and Garmin\Monitor folders when the watch was connected to a computer. Reset the watch (hold the power(/light) button for 15 seconds) - turn it back on. If just comes on you didn't do it long enough try again - you need it to look for GPS to set time when you turmn it on. It has been functioning correctly since then, but I believe the problem is software error in the watch and is likely to happen again quite possibly at the beginning of March. Upload your data just before midnight on the 28th and then record a short activity on the 1st of March and see if that uploads if it does it again you can at least avoid losing too much history.

+1. Based on my conversation with their Help Desk, their Technical Support/Development Team have already been made aware of this high-priority issue and yet they just kept mum about it. Was told that they're currently working on it and will be addressed in the next software update. When will that be, they refused to drop a date.

In hindsight, I should've been more diligent about skirting that update. I was on Version 2.20 up until January 31 and things are fine on my end. But when I sync'ed on February 7 which included the software update to 2.40 my Step Activity from Feb. 1st is missing in GC except for the data during the Sync date (i.e. 02/07). However those data that are not in GC are still in the History of my FR15, though it's going to be overwritten by a new one once 7 days have passed.

Thanks! I only have one activity to manually record which isn't a big deal (except for my training that has obviously sucked, but that's not the Garmin's fault!!).

I'm really irritated about the steps, though, as there's no way to manually fix that except to maybe hack and mimic the files...

I also opened a ticket. Maybe if people keep complaining it will make it higher priority.

Following in case yall find a solution. Unless I sync daily just before bed it does not count my steps for the whole day. If I syn early in the daily it only takes the first sync, if I wait until after midnight it shows no steps for the day before. Frustrating!

New firmware update, from notes, sounds like it may address the issue.

Got firmware update, sync fixed on Forerunner 15, no more lost data from prior day's sync until midnight. Nice to have full functionality back.
