FR15 Activities (steps) for one day not showing

Hi All

My steps are synchronised to GC for all days except yesterday (Sat 31 January). It looks like GC has not got the data for the entire day because there is no sleep data either. Its like Saturday just never happened. If I look on the watch the steps total for yesterday shows, suggesting it logged it somewhere. Is anyone able to help with how I might get the data uploaded please?

Weird something similar happened with my FR15 as well. Watch shows 12853 steps for Monday (2/2/2014) but GC is only giving me credit for 379 steps. I emailed garmin support (I might call for faster response) so if I find out anything I'll post again
  • Open Garmin Express and see if there is anything in the backlog to send to the servers for the Fr15. When I've seen this, there is always a file that has yet to be passed on.

no luck for me. called garmin support. got escalated to software and did remote to my pc. looked at files on my device and pc and couldn't figure it out. so at this point ticket still open and they said they'll email me back, but looking like I lose the steps for that day even though it shows it on my fr15.

This same thing has happened with me and my 920xt. Step data all fine except last Sunday. It's as if it never happened. Step data shown on watch though.
  • Same thing has happened again for yesterday and Monday. yesterdays shows zero steps and Monday shows less than half of what I completed.

@JAMESBEEBY, yeah it happened to me AGAIN too. I didn't get credit for Wednesday's (yesterday) steps now...
None of my steps got counted for Wednesday. I don't know if it has something to do with my schedule lately. I go to work out at like 11PM and it crosses over into 12:30-1am the next day when I'm done. Only thing I can think of maybe confusing the device and not creating a new .FIT file for the new date. When phone support did the remote session with me the other day they looked at my .FIT files under the activity folder and modified/creation dates, escalated to software support, no resolution. I still haven't heard anything back over email (phone support confirmed that was still open and would get back to me). When I have time I'll try to call again, but this is FRUSTRATING. Not getting credit for 2 days worth of steps...
  • I have the same problem with Wednesday's steps. FR15 (my training workout sync fine though).
  • I think I figured out what happens with my FR15. On Wednesday I went for a late run and I came back after 12 o'clock so when I synced it was already Thursday, my Wednesday steps were lost. Yesterday I synced around 18:00 and I got 8700 steps, and I synced again this morning. My watch history shows 9400 steps but my garmin.connect was not updated with the extra steps I had from 18:00 till 24:00. After noticing this I compared the steps history with garmin.connect and there were differences for all days exept couple of them that I had synced just before I went to bed.

I will log a support ticket, but until then I will make sure that I sync just before I finish my day.

Pretty certain I'v found the problem....

The watch records a ".fit" file everyday at mignight (one each day at 00:00) in the folder Garmin->Monitor

Since 1st February it has created none. At this point there are 50 .fit files in the folder - this might be significant rather than the date as the watch obviously has some code to prevent the storage filling up.

Perhaps everyone experiencing the problem could connect their watch and see if this is the same problem on all these FR15's (I'm using v2.4 of the software) and report here.

I have also checked using file recovery software and there is no evidence of the files ever being created.

As a work around the watch will create a file if you sync so you can record your steps if you sync late evening every day!

I'm going to reset the watch, check tonight and report back.
