Vivofit failing to sync and Garmin Connect failing to update

I've had my Garmin Vivofit for 5 days. Day 4, the Garmin Connect website stopped updating properly, reports weren't showing the latest information and Calories in/out as well.

Today, I cannot sync. Garmin express just fails, every time. Also, on top of the Garmin Connect sections that weren't updating, sleep and challenges won't update also.

What's going on???

If this is the service I am to expect under a week of using the device, I'm going to return it and get another brand.

Hey mine has done the same thing only I have had the unit since 12/25 but this is only the third time to try to sync. Goes from waiting to transfer to waiting to upload and fails every attempt. I had a piece of crap Striiv Play and this was way bigger money and now appears to be a piece of crap also! Very frustrating, NO ONE TO HELP!

I've had the vivofit for about a month and today it no longer wants to sync with my phone or computer. I also need to use the garmin connect website to upload myfitnesspal food intake as opposed to the app. Another odd thing is that tHe myfitnesspal link is also different on the garmin website compared to when linking from the app and if you add in all your food for the day on one fitnesspal it doesn't transfer to the other one. Not impressed.

I've had mine for several months and it usually syncs after a few tries. I was away for a few days for the holidays and don't know if the problem is that there are multiple days of data or it's having issues with switching from 2014 to 2015? I've tried all of the online troubleshooting suggestions but it seems that the Dec. 31 or Jan.1 data is messed up according to the error output. Does anyone know if there's a way to clear the data and continue afresh?

I think there is some issue today. I'm hoping it is fixed by tomorrow! It's driving me crazy!

@GarminConnect just tweeted they are having technical problems and are working on them!
  • Are they working on Connect and Garmin Express?

Garmin connect has been having issues all day. The site was down for a while, and no one can sync (any garmin device) right now. I'm sure Garmin is working on it. LOTS of people just got new devices over the holidays, which adds to the load, and many new users want to sync pretty often. Once people get used to things, the "sync requests" will slow down, and things will get more stable. (The Garmin Trackers hold about 30 days of data, so even if you go a few days without syncing, it's not a big deal)

As a side note, Polar Flow (the GC equivalent for Polar Devices) and Misfit (the Misfit Shine and Flash) seem to be having similar issues today. Everyone is experimenting with their new trackers before they go back to work on Monday!

Surely they could have put this on their website as well for those who do not follow twitter! It sucks that it happens on a Sunday when the Steps challenge finishes - hmmm, conspiracy maybe...
