Activity Upload Issues!

Having big issues trying to upload activities tonight, have a FR620 trying to synk via wifi does not work, sync via Express does not work either.

Then tried to manual upload of the fit files but no luck via connect homepage, but the upload just hangs or throws an error.

Anyone else with these issues right now? File attached

I'm also having issues with my Edge 500 data and vivosmart data not uploading to Garmin Connect after what shows as a successful Garmin Express sync. Funny, the two planned workouts I entered in Connect sync'd back to my Edge and 910 just fine. Data out, good....data in, no Bueno. I have to say, Garmin Connect is so inconsistent and frustrating!!

Had the same issue with my Forerunner 410 tonight; would not transfer data to Garmin Connect because of server error. I had a workout on Friday which uploaded and transferred with no issue.

My question now is where is this workout data? Is it lost forever? Will it transfer automatically when the server is fixed? I am relatively new to all this and have never encountered this problem before.

    Upload Error

I am also having trouble uploading FIT files directly from the Garmin Connect site. I downloaded the file manually from Trainer Road and is supported according to Garmin.
  • Garmin Connect was down the last few hours. Probably due to holiday load on the servers and insufficient server capacity provisioning. It's just starting to come back to life but quite unpredictable. I can't sync.

The good news is your data is stored locally on your PC or Mac, whether it was downloaded by ANT or by USB. You can find a guide here:

    http://sporttracks.mobi/blog/is-garmin-connect-down

There is a Garmin support article somewhere that has the folder locations (Google it), but is missing the folder location info for legacy USB devices.

    Cheers.

That is good info but doesn't help those who only use the Bluetooth upload through a phone with devices such as 920XT. I'm doing my best to never install Express. I have older devices that I don't want to have to deal with Express. The Bluetooth upload is incredible ... When it works.

An additional bit of info. Your device holds data for 7-30 days (depending on the specific device) so even if you can't sync for a day, your data is there and will sync!

It finally worked! Thanks GARMIN....but I still think the response could be better. This is the fourth time since August 2014 we have had this issue to deal with as far as I know.

Its not a deal breaker that sometimes the servers have issues, but you all could do a FAR BETTER job of notifying your CUSTOMERS that there is an issue and you're working on it. I mean, it would be a deal breaker if someone else entered the market with a decent product..
  • Woo Hoo, working now!!! Thanks Garmin!!!!

More than aware of that. Still not good if I want to analyze my data that day. I know it's not the end of the world but weekends are when I have the most available time to review my data and adjust my training. Very untimely outage for me personally.
