Garmin Connect Automatic activity name assignment

I second this - it is unbelievably irritating. At least 'Untitled' was an easy term to search for/ find. Now whenever I do a big upload I need to remember all of the rather random places Connect seems to assign to my activities (many of which are 20-50km away) - this is not an improvement Garmin!

Yes, it's an annoying "bug", hopefully Garmin will fix it, would be nice if they could link the name of the activity, to the (name of the )place by coordinates...

It seems to be flawed in the way that it assigns names - it obviously works well for some areas but in others it gives inappropriate or meaningless names sometimes of places in the wrong country. At the very least it should be optional. For me it's a mild irritation - for any run within a couple of miles from my house it labels the run with Farnham (which is reasonable as that's the town I am in) When I run in Aldershot I get names such as St Mary's ward or Wellington which are meaningless. Yesterday I ran in an event starting in the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace and that it has decided to mark as Untitled :) So to say that it is working when it can't sensibly label places in the UK's capital is well wide of the mark.

I have the same problem- _all_ my activities are named by a place in my neighbouring country (Upinniemi/ Finland), about 90km over the sea from my actual location.

Auto-naming activities should be optional

I understand that this feature is trying to help users to make our life easier, it seems that auto-naming of activities is not quite accurate and does not represent what users really want. Just because you passed near to an area, it doesn't mean that ran that particular route. This feature should be optional.
