I've noticed the same issue. As I always edit the name anyways, it's not a big deal for me. The default selected is sometimes pretty decent, and other times, completely out of whack.

It's not any more work to change the name than it was when it was "untitled".

It is slightly more work. "Untitled" is a single word, you can select it with a quick double-click. The new names are usually 2 words, which requires a click-drag to select both to replace.

I think it is slightly better than "Untitled", but it'd be great if they allowed some user control over it. Like a simple setting to either allow the auto naming, go back to "untitled", or to provide an alternate default title.

If uploading and naming multiple activities, it's much easier to find "Untitled" than the names Garmin assigns to the activities.

For mine, it's the wrong country and city altogether. Fortunately the strava auto sync shows the right name "date"+"city"+"country". It's driving me nuts.

I completely agree with you. The garmin website is not good and now it auto labels incorrectly so I have to search for the unedited sessions rather than spot them easily because they were all "Untitled".
Polar may offer less in the unit but at least the program is on your own computer although they dont have one for Mac!
Are we really in the 21st century?

Is there still no solution to this 'bug'. It's annoying having my activities named 'Marianhill running' and 'Marianhill cycling'. Marianhill is nowhere close to my geographical location!
