Is there a problem with the Garmin Connect backend?

I just got back from a run and synced my Forerunner 620 via WiFi. The transfer completed, but when I logged into Garmin Connect, the activity wasn't there. I synced again with the USB cradle, and the activity still did not appear in Connect. I just now tried uploading the FIT file manually, and Connect is hanging on Uploading...

I also tried transferring my personal records to the 620, on which I did a master reset last week after the watch rebooted at the end of a workout. Connect opened Garmin Express to do the transfer but it hung while preparing the file, and the file modification date did not change on the watch filesystem, so it had not yet reached the point of writing data to the watch.

Makes me wonder whether part of the site's back end has crashed. Has anyone else noticed this problem?
  • I am also having this GC issue. Sync was successful from my Forerunner 220 via bluetooth/iphone. Activity shows up in Strava via Garmin to Stava sync but does not show up in Garmin Connect.
  • I am having the same issue with both a forerunner 610 and Edge 800. I also could upload to Strava but not Garmin Connect. Also sat on hold for 45 minutes and got nowhere. All was working fine on Sunday. Help!
  • Adding my $.02 here.... I had three activities today, and the sync appeared to work correctly. I did not follow up immediately in Connect to ensure they worked. However, the activities transferred successfully to EveryMove, so I know Garmin had them at one time. It has not transferred to MyFitnessPal. They are not in Connect as of this time. I will try syncing again tonight. Hoping they will fix the glitch and Milton will stop getting his check.

I feel exactly the same. Spent most of this morning trying different routines of opening garmin express / connect/ switching my 305 on / off to try and upload last night's run. Just get a symc error message on express - detailed info says 'error', or I get a never finished uploading on Connect upload.

Spent 2 hours last week trying to get the Modern view working and only managed to solve my issues by going back to Connect traditional view.

The silence from Garmin is deafening.

Beginning to assume 305 an old product so no longer supported but if I upgrade the Garmin software makes me seriously tempted to try another manufacturer.

Now fixed - using connect traditional view - by passing express.

Thanks to the Garmin Team for fixing - a bit of communication would be appreciated.
  • OP here. I just tried a WiFi sync with my 620 and it reported no files to be synced. The activity was still not on Garmin Connect. But this time I succeeded in uploading it manually. I wonder whether it's still in a queue to be synced, or whether it's gone.

BTW, the @garminconnect Twitter account just posted the following three hours ago: "We are currently experiencing issues with the uploading and syncing of some activities to Garmin Connect. Please stay tuned for an update." Too little, too late?
