Is there a problem with the Garmin Connect backend?

I just got back from a run and synced my Forerunner 620 via WiFi. The transfer completed, but when I logged into Garmin Connect, the activity wasn't there. I synced again with the USB cradle, and the activity still did not appear in Connect. I just now tried uploading the FIT file manually, and Connect is hanging on Uploading...

I also tried transferring my personal records to the 620, on which I did a master reset last week after the watch rebooted at the end of a workout. Connect opened Garmin Express to do the transfer but it hung while preparing the file, and the file modification date did not change on the watch filesystem, so it had not yet reached the point of writing data to the watch.

Makes me wonder whether part of the site's back end has crashed. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Just got back from my run and having the same issue. Every time I try to sync it just says "There was an error syncing with garmin connect". The fit file is there, I'm not sure what the deal is.

I have also been having the same issue with my Forerunner 410. I had never had an issue with the Ant agent, but since needing to run Garmin Express I have had the issue a few times. Funny thing is it will not load for several cycles then it will upload the latest one without the previous leaving a hole. I manually entered them but lose the course information elevation and weather. I tried selecting on the device in settings to communicate with the computer and it worked one time, now today no upload although sync was successful.

Same issue here with my FR620. However, it automatically synced via BT after my run and although I cannot seen the results on GC, the integration with Strava and TrainingPeaks did actually transfer the data to those apps just fine. When I connect my FR620 via USB, I get the same error messages mentioned above.

The activities I did this morning (SYD time) seem to be being uploaded to my local version of garmin express but then an error occurs in uploading to Garmin Connect. So I tend to agree with BRIANOGILVIE that this would indicate an issue at the Garmin end.

Just adding to my earlier point (and not sure if it is related), when I try to enter the activity manually I get the response "You have entered a value that is not accepted by the database. Please enter a new value." Now matter how much I trim back the input the response is the same. For me, this again indicates that the GC system is failing.

same for me! uploaded my Fenix 2 data via Garmin Express. Says its all synced but its not available on my activities list. Been on hold with the help center ever since.

So an hour later, I gave up with the help center. Now I am looking at this forum and it has my old user name and the wrong date/time when I originally posted it, which happens to be today, 8/25 @5pm or so... not yesterday at 11:49.

Wow, I was pretty impressed with with all the new application tools, but the customer service is horrible.

hopefully, its just a back end thing and they can resolve it quickly.
  • Im having the same issue. Garmin 510. I get an error on upload using Garmin Express. Switched to the classic version of Garmin connect, and it just hangs. Then saved the .fit file to my desktop and tried a manual upload, and it just hangs and wont upload.

Uploaded to another well known/popular cycling workout/segment tracking website without a problem....

Any resolution on this yet? I have a Forerunner 110 and still can't upload.
  • Seems like this would be great time for something on the @garminconnect Twitter account. But alas, nothing since June 10th...
  • Attempting to upload from Garmin 210 also giving me an error currently. First time I've had an upload problem since shifting to Garmin Express/ Modern website a few months ago. Uploads to Strava with no problems.
