Is there a problem with the Garmin Connect backend?

I just got back from a run and synced my Forerunner 620 via WiFi. The transfer completed, but when I logged into Garmin Connect, the activity wasn't there. I synced again with the USB cradle, and the activity still did not appear in Connect. I just now tried uploading the FIT file manually, and Connect is hanging on Uploading...

I also tried transferring my personal records to the 620, on which I did a master reset last week after the watch rebooted at the end of a workout. Connect opened Garmin Express to do the transfer but it hung while preparing the file, and the file modification date did not change on the watch filesystem, so it had not yet reached the point of writing data to the watch.

Makes me wonder whether part of the site's back end has crashed. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

I am having the same problem with my 310xt, tried re-pairing which at least allowed the data transfer but there is a no show of data on GC. Would have thought Garmin would have said something by now??

Me also - I have a 410, says imported but not in my training log. I went to classic to manually upload and it just spins and takes forever but doesn't do anything. Doesn't appear to be a manual upload on the modern version. Any which way, can't get my data to import - or at least to see it there

I am getting the same problems with my 310XT and have spent all morning resetting, uninstalling and re-installing software, heck I even tried a hard reset. I managed to load my data onto another site so I will export/import when this problem is fixed.

Garmin, I have worked in IT all my life so I can accept that systems can and do fail, what is totally unacceptable is the lack of communication which leads to many wasted hours.

I dread to think how many man-hours have been spent world wide by people doing exactly what I have done this morning.

    Very frustrated.

Perhaps a little proactive communication, something like this would have been nice... (a suggested communication written by moi, not Garmin!)

A letter to our valued customers from Joe Bloggs, King Ding-a-ling of Garmin Connect etc.

We are experiencing some back-end issues related to the uploading of data from our devices into Garmin Connect. At present, it is not possible to upload activities via Garmin Express, the Activities import function or via our App. This issue was raised here on this forum at X:XXpm today (1 hour prior to this message). Our tests have confirmed that one of our servers is causing the block.

This is an issue we are taking seriously and have our technicians working hard to rectify it as soon as possible. It is our priority to have this matter resolved as soon as possible and will update you regularly (ie. every 4 hours) through to full resolution. Best estimates have this at approximately X:XXpm tomorrow, Eastern Time Zone.

Thank you for your patience and please accept our humble apology. Continuity of service is of the utmost priority here at Garmin and we will review our practices to ensure that we don't experience similar events in the future.

    Many regards,
    Joe

I'm sure this is the general sentiment of our Garmin friends towards us, they are too busy fixing the problem to actually tell us.

    Same issue!
    - Tried Vivofit with the HR Monitor - Didn't load activity.
    - Tried Garmin Fit to map a run last night - Didn't load activity.
    - Tried to Manually add activity this morning - Received an error that I entered something that the database did not recognize.

I just purchased a bunch of these things for my employees. SMH! What a waste, I thought these things would be more reliable.

Having the same problem....I am trying to upload my work outs from the weekend on my computer at work....as I always do....and today, it seems to be stuck in uploading mode! Never experienced this problem before? Can anyone help me please? (I have checked the drive on the watch and the files are present....just before anyone says anything! LOL)

    Yes it's working
How nice it would be if Garmin told us what was going on

I encountered a similar problem today for the first time. Activity synced from Fenix 2 (Fenix 2 said sync complete). Activity does not show up on Garmin Connect mobile or web although it does indicate correct time of last sync. However, the activity did transfer to Training Peaks via auto-sync and shows a Garmin Connect id tag. So, the activity synced to Garmin Connect and passed through but does not show up there. I called Garmin technical support. They said they have not had any reports of such a problem and had no idea what it could be and recommended that I do a hard-wired sync via Garmin Express. I haven't tried that yet. Clearly GC has an issue but Garmin doesn't seem to know that yet.

Yep, just done a file import of todays run from a well known site.

Can't test GE as I did a hard reset earlier when I thought the problem was on the client.
