Modern Garmin Connect website not an improvement

Hi, some feedback for the Garmin developers and more importantly the Marketing department.

• The Windows 8 tile appearance is annoying for the same reasons that most Windows 8 users worldwide find this Windows version annoying.
While for that reason Microsoft is slightly moving away from the tiles appearance with Windows 8.2 and 9, Garmin decides it’s a good time to annoy their customers all over again.
• The bluish color is very somber and dull. The new website isn’t something to be happy about indeed, but this somber color is unnecessary.
• Tiles can’t be resized, another annoyance.
• The map in the Course screen (to create a new course) is smaller now than in the old version. On my 27” screen reduced from roughly
1500x700 pixels to 1400x500 pixels. Which means that I can’t use large parts of my screen for creating a course. This is no improvement, in fact irritating.

This is just a first list, I may post more.

Summarized: Garmin did a bad job. Give me back my old site, or impove (basically redesign) the “modern” site.

I quite like the new Connect Modern.

I like the way in which you can select which Mini Views can be shown on the desktop. I have the activities, calendar, weight and monthly goals all showing and when all the data is heading in the right direction it's quite motivational, which is how it should be.

I'm using Mac OSx and Safari, and it all works OK.

My only issue is whether or not to upgrade my old FR 210 (Strap is on its last legs) to a new 620. However in view of the comments regarding the FR620 and the Firmware bugs, I might just affix a new strap from a 620 onto my old 210!!
  • You should consider the 610 - aside from the wifi it's just as good as the 620 just depends exactly what features you want. Go to DCRAINMAKER site and look at his comparisons. 610 is available heavily discounted at the moment.
  • Really? The modern Reports page that you end up on is exactly like the classic Reports page. If you followed my directions, you'd end up on this page.

Once you're there, select the report type you want to run, then customize the date range in the dropdown box next to the words Report on. The last option is Custom Dates. That should do exactly what you want.

That only works if you lump all of your activities together. If you select just one specific category ("road cycling"), the option to create custom date ranges does not appear. Very aggravated by the new update, I'm about ready to join the Strava parade.

The issue that you mention doesn't seem to be affecting all users. At the very least it doesn't affect me. Until it is clear what the cause of the problem is, it is unfair to say the problem lies with Garmin.

Additionally, you've already chimed in to a thread that is actually related to your problems here, it would be most helpful if you could keep discussion of that problem there so that your issues don't detract from those of others in this thread.

{shrug} It's a problem that affects more than just me; I've read other complaints about it. As far as "detracting from those of others in this thread" goes, somebody mentioned a complaint about the reports feature; you proposed a solution; I simply pointed out that the solution doesn't (completely) solve the problem.
