Modern Garmin Connect website not an improvement

Hi, some feedback for the Garmin developers and more importantly the Marketing department.

• The Windows 8 tile appearance is annoying for the same reasons that most Windows 8 users worldwide find this Windows version annoying.
While for that reason Microsoft is slightly moving away from the tiles appearance with Windows 8.2 and 9, Garmin decides it’s a good time to annoy their customers all over again.
• The bluish color is very somber and dull. The new website isn’t something to be happy about indeed, but this somber color is unnecessary.
• Tiles can’t be resized, another annoyance.
• The map in the Course screen (to create a new course) is smaller now than in the old version. On my 27” screen reduced from roughly
1500x700 pixels to 1400x500 pixels. Which means that I can’t use large parts of my screen for creating a course. This is no improvement, in fact irritating.

This is just a first list, I may post more.

Summarized: Garmin did a bad job. Give me back my old site, or impove (basically redesign) the “modern” site.
  • I love the look and feel of the new site but I agree they did a bad job. So many bugs still with it - was not tested properly but this appears to be a general problem with all of their software. Their QA team really need a wake up. It should still be v 0.1 beta.

I try to share a course by making it public (unlock symbol). And then sending the URL to a friend via one of the Share options (like email). But the URL doesn't work as long as the receipient isn't logged on. Since most of my friends don't have Garmin accounts, they can't see the public course. Obviously, I wil not recommend them to join Garmin as long as the performance of Garmin Connect is so appalling. So this "making public and share option" is useless.
  • Jooster2, the problem that you are appalled over only seems to affect sharing of courses, and was introduced within the last few days. I'd be willing to bet it will be fixed soon. In the meantime, there is already a known workaround.

The redesign is TERRIBLE. How do you run custom reports?
  • Click the three horizontal line icon on the left edge of the screen. Click the word Reports. Scroll down to the bottom of the report list and select Progress Summary. Now you're at the old custom reports page.

I appreciate the assistance. I wasn't able to find a way to customize the date range in the "modern" version
  • I'm posting just to say goodbye to Garmin Connect.
I don't like the modern version but I'm sure I'd get used to it.
It's performance is terrible i.e. sloooww compared with classic, just about bad enough to be unusable but again I might get used to it.

The real reason I'm leaving is Garmin Express. It's awful, it gives you no control whatsoever. I don't want to sync all activities, I want to upload the activities I choose. And I certainly don't want it doing it in the background when I'm not even trying to use the Garmin platform.

So, sadly, I think I've uploaded my last run and until I hear things have changed I won't be back.

Really? The modern Reports page that you end up on is exactly like the classic Reports page. If you followed my directions, you'd end up on this page.

Once you're there, select the report type you want to run, then customize the date range in the dropdown box next to the words Report on. The last option is Custom Dates. That should do exactly what you want.

For me the new site simply does not work. I can't remember the last time I was so frustrated with a web sight. So far the only good thing about it that I have found is the option to go back to the old site.
