Segment leaderboards not populating

OK, I give. About a month ago I created a few segments from existing, unlocked activities. The leaderboards did not populate even though there was a notification they would. Yesterday I deleted them and created some new segments which I knew I would cross. Again, leaderboard doesn't populate although I have ridden 2 of the segments since they were created.
Is there some secret word I need to utter to make the segment leaderboards populate? Using an Edge 810.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Passed through another segment this morning. Uploaded the ride to GC, nothing in the segment leaderboard. Does anyone at Garmin care about these issues or what?

  • Do you not have this notification in GarminConnect then?

    Segments are back up and running, although we are still making improvements. It may take a few days to process the segments you crossed or created.
  • Just checked, in spite of garmin telling everything allright now, I still have segments not working and having "The leaderboard is still being created for this segment. Please check back later." message in them. I don't care anymore, i think this is exactly what garmin wants.

    Mine took 4 days! GC will not send your segments to the device until the leader boards have been made. Mine are now updated and on my device, but 4 days is too long
  • Yes, I do have that notification. Of course, this does nothing to explain why for over a month, that same notification showed up while the leaderboards didn't populate on the segments I created.

    I would like to know exactly what Garmin are doing and why it's taking days to process this? If they need more processing power at Garmin why not just provision more servers. They should really send their dev's to see how the big boys at AWS/Google cope with load.

    My new data is not being added to the segment leaderboards. Activities report that no segments have be crossed when I know that they have been as I created them! Today, my data was removed from the leaderboard of a segment that I created and I no longer have a position on my own segment. What is going on?
