Segment leaderboards not populating

OK, I give. About a month ago I created a few segments from existing, unlocked activities. The leaderboards did not populate even though there was a notification they would. Yesterday I deleted them and created some new segments which I knew I would cross. Again, leaderboard doesn't populate although I have ridden 2 of the segments since they were created.
Is there some secret word I need to utter to make the segment leaderboards populate? Using an Edge 810.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance,
TT

Thanx Garmin. You must be the least responsive company with regards to your customer's needs.....ever. Why do you have this extensive electronic forum if you'll NEVER respond to questions asked. Personally, I have spent in excess of $2000 with your company on various devices (310, 500, 705, 810, Nuvi...etc.) over the years, hoping your products and interface would surely improve. Sadly, it has not happened. In fact, they and it have continually become less useful. Ever try to ride a 600k Randonneuring brevet using an 810 with the gps route loaded? FYI, don't be foolish enough rely on the 810 for any sort of correct navigation (the one thing it should do flawlessly). Instead, rely on the paper and ink version of a cue card. If you do manage not to get lost on your 400k brevet, don't expect to be able to upload what parts of the ride it did manage to capture to Garmin Connect, because the file will no doubt be corrupt for some reason. Don't think that your 810 is working while riding at night on a 200k brevet, because it will no doubt randomly shut itself off, with no warning to the user. Ever wonder how far off course you can get when your 810 GPS just goes blank at night, in the dark, on unfamiliar highways. When you do realize your 810 is off while riding at night....in the dark, you have no clue for how long, or where it shut off and again, the ride will probably be corrupt when you try to upload it. Most company's would at a minimum offer an apology for loosing these inop devices on their customers. Nope, not Garmin, you release some new device, which works less effectively than it's predecessor and embarrassingly your customers are duped again. And if your customers don't upgrade, there is little or no chance Garmin will fix the software on the now "legacy" paper weight they proudly own.
Honestly, how hard is it NOT to jack-up a device worse than it already is by NOT including in the upgraded software, code that when external power is lost, the device shuts itself off if you don't happen to notice the screen within 15 seconds and make the correct choice between a check mark and an X, either of which could mean "shut down" or "don't shut down". Does anyone test these things or do the interns just throw some code together and go get donuts and coffee while the GC people quickly upload said code and announce release X.XX is now out?

Thanx again Garmin for your responsiveness,
    TT
  • Finally had my segment updated after about a week. Its a great feature - now if only they would update them in real time.

How can Garmin run such a terrible website. It has glitches, bugs and crashes more than any other site I have used in years. As far as I can tell the segments does not ever update. I created a segment, ran it again faster 2 weeks ago, and faster still today. I NEVER updates. I still have the time from the first time I rode it. Really frustrating ... won't even show as a personal best on the device itself!

Nothing, still no segment leaderboards, months later. Disgusting.

I'm getting the same (lack of) segment times. Garmin have made a right dogs dinner out of this upgrade. Now, when I look at activities, I'm getting a message of '[segment.status.yellow]' I'm seriously considering just ditching GC and dropping everything into Strava.
  • How long is this going to go on for?!

In the real world if my IT systems were this slow and it was still not fixed after weeks and weeks I would have been fired long ago.
  • They were set up 6-8 weeks ago. A few weeks ago created a few more that I cross at least once a day, sometimes twice, still NOTHING.

  • This is really ****ing me off now. Garmin has ignored two of my related support requests. I don't understand how a company can allow themselves to be presented in such a negative light.
  • I echo everyone else's comments. Segments are not working at all or not working consistently for historical data. I've emailed support directly and have had no response either. This is a botched feature and upgrade job, period! The website had been flaky and aside from the segments not working, integration with MyFitnessPal is abysmal and often I get duplicates and extra workout entries on either side. I for one can understand glitches and when things go wrong because they always do however what I don't understand is the lack of communication on Garmin's part. Garmin please take note of your customers comments and communicate with us so we can continue to support you as a company.
  • Garmin support is next to useless!!! I need to find the CEO's email address and give him a piece of my mind.
