How about a Strava like privacy bubble over your home address so no-one can see where you live if you start your rides from home. The standard Garmin Privacy settings are too limited. They are on or off you have no control over who can see where you live. Until this happens all my rides are private and I will continue to use Strava for day to day functions and will ONLY use Garmin as cloud storage for my ride files.
I'd like to suggest incorporating 'Privacy Zones'. Privacy zones are used to enable you to safelty share your activity with the world and keep chosen locations hidden. Privacy Zones are defined by specifiing a location and a chosen radius that surrounds it.
Agreed - +1 for privacy zones - there is a thread on this already :) . In response to those that think it is unimportant I would say it is very important to start to change the mindset of any organisation that gathers and holds our personal data, Just to say that lots of apps gather that data anyway is to miss the point - need to push back on the app providers too and disallow irrelevant app permissions when asked for.
+1 Yes me too i'd like to see this. its a positive move and will enable us all to post our rides/activities on any public forum without fear of divulging our home addresses. like others, i record and store in connect and do everything else in Strava. i won't properly use segments in connect until the privacy is set up.
