new modern look

Awful. Terrible to navigate and I hate that I cannot see my last few activities at once on the new dashboard unless I scroll back and forth. I still can't figure out how to see the full detail of my activity with charts from the dashboard - brings me to the activities grid, then I have to click the activity. The other dashlets are fairly useless. Calendar is only useful if it's full screen so why include it on the dashboard?? Fill space I guess.

It seems like the website disappeared, was taken over by a mobile site, which looks completely ridiculous on a desktop. Epic fail. I may have to give up my Garmin in favor of something else.

Agree totally... Unless I haven't been able to find it, the Dashboard view is missing. --[Edit] -- Ok I found it. When I first went to Modern view, nothing loaded. All I got was the Activities list, but clicking into other screens just showed up blank... After switching back to Classic view, and trying again the dashboard started to show up --- achingly slow. Classic is much more responsive.

This feels like a beta version...

@Garmin - Please don't be too quick to do away with the Classic view, at least until you got this one right. And it isn't yet.

Has anyone figured out how to add tables to the dashboard? like if u click the little settings button you can remove, but how do you add?
  • Select the dashboard you want to modify by clicking the name near the top of the page. Click the three horizontal bar icon on the left edge of the screen, near the top of the page. Click the > symbol to the right of the name of the widget you want to add to your dashboard. Click the Add to Dashboard button to add the widget.
  • If it's not broke why fix it?
Still cannot get degrees Celsius on Garmin connect even though it's set up on my Garmin Edge 800 as degrees C.
  • For the most part, the settings on your Garmin device are completely independent of the settings on Garmin Connect. If you want to see temperature as celcius in Garmin Connect, you need to change the settings there. You will need to go to the settings page and change the Measurement Unit to Metric or Statute UK.

Nothing shows up in in the modern look... am I doing something wrong? Where are all my runs?
  • What exactly do you man that 'nothing shows up'? Do you get a blue page with some icons along the left edge and nothing else? If so, chances are good that you are using a browser plugin (adblock, ghostery) that is blocking the contents of the page. If you add garmin.com to the list of whitelisted sites, it will probably start displaying correctly.

I am having the same problem. The top "Connect" banner, with three lines to the left, loads. The only other information is the text in white: "Help Facebook Twitter Statement of Privacy Terms of Use Connect is powered by Garmin • Copyright © 1996-2014 Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries"
No content loads. NO, I do not have any browser plugins installed. I have a feeling the content just times out but doesn't give an error message.
Strikes me as the work web design team that assumes everyone has high speed internet connections with unlimited downloads, and new/up to date hardware.
  • Have you read the post above yours? It's nothing to do with anyone assuming everyone has high speed internet etc, but more likely an issue with your PC/mac.
