You can mix units in the watch settings, but not in Garmin Connect. People have been complaining about this for at least 10 years, but Garmin doesn't seem to care.
You can try to submit an idea here…

It's kind of embarrassing when I share my runs with my sister, who use a Samsung watch and Samsung health, that i can't change my distance in km without messing my strength training weight and my weight/height.
Would it be possible to have the option of a hybrid unit option?
In the UK we use both Imperial and metric units for different things.
feet/inches for user height, but metres for elevation.
Celsius for temp, not Fahrenheit.
A mix of stones/lbs or kg depending on use preferences
Miles and mph, not kilometres & kph
In the USA we measure open water distance in meters/KM not Miles and I want to enter my weight in pounds. When I go to Ireland to train (again everything is tracked in meters.KM not miles) and other countries they too use KM. So I feel your frustration.
This seems like such a simple fix. Obviously, someone thought about it when designing Garmin's watches. I would expect the web app to be more feature rich than the watch. Please fix this, Garmin. It's really unacceptable, especially given how long people--your paying customers--have been asking for it.
