Distance in metric, weight in pounds

My device allows me to enter my weight in pounds, and have distance etc in metric. Connect seems to insist that I have weight in kg if I use metric for distance /speed.
I had hoped that the revamp would fix this, but it seems not.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my weight in pounds, and distance /speed in metric? Garmin, can you fix this if not?
**Can someone move this into the right place? I didn't expect it to end up in the FAQ section **

Is it possible to display units like this? It's not just a matter of choosing units statute or metric. Other apps will ask how to display weight (lbs and kg) and then how to display distance (km and miles)...
  • I have been struggling with the same thing, cant find an answer so would be good if this could changed.

    Any change on this?

I'm looking to do this very same thing; have my distances shown in KM but weight in LBS - I couldn't find any other threads covering it but I'm new to the forums so easily could have missed it. I'm also new to using Garmin products too, having recently picked up a Fenix 3. Is this kind of configuration possible yet?

On your Fenix 3, you can set it for km. and have it shown in Garmin Connect as mi. and lbs.
But on Garmin Connect, it seems you need to go completely metric or not.

Agreed, it would be nice to mix and match ...

I'd like to have Connect show weight in kilos and distance in miles, like I can set it on my F3. Please allow a little more granularity in the settings Garmin!
  • This probably seems weird to the American developers who do everything in British Imperial units and think they have allowed for foreigners by providing a metric measurement option, but it's more complicated than that. For example I'm Canadian. We went metric in 1976. Our roads and car odometers and races are all in kilometres, but many products we have to buy from the US, so my weight plates are in pounds. In the six years since this thread was created, did someone figure out a way to enter weights in pounds while keeping runs in kilometres on Garmin Connect?

  • Same, please fix for Canadian, Ontarians and Quebecois we have lots of money too! Please take it all.

  • New Garmin user here (FR 955).

I’m in Canada where we mix measurements. KM for distance but LBS for weight. I can’t find a setting in Garmin Connect that allows for this.

If I select Metric, it sets distance to KM (great!) but weight for weigh ins and strength training in KG. If I select Statute, it sets weight to LBs (great!) but distance to miles.

Help! I know I’m not the only Canadian using a Garmin.

Can we have a setting for us that mixes these?

  • You can mix units in the watch settings, but not in Garmin Connect. People have been complaining about this for at least 10 years, but Garmin doesn't seem to care.

You can try to submit an idea here:

Personally I hate that page because unlike "ideas pages" from other companies like Spotify:

    - you don't get any feedback from Garmin

    - your idea isn't posted publicly, where others can vote on it and comment

    - you can't see the status of your idea

    It's just a one-way black hole.

  • Yeah - I submitted a request, but it seems to go into a black hole of the internet. Really odd that you can customize it on the watch but not on the app/Connect.
