Manual Upload Linux User

I have a 310xt and use Linux. I've been using the Garmin-Forerunner-610-Extractor (https://github.com/Tigge/Garmin-Forerunner-610-Extractor) to extract the files from the watch and have then been uploading them manually. However, today when I logged on it appears that the manual upload feature has disappeared. Instead I'm getting an invitation to download Garmin Express, which of course is not available for Linux. I'm not happy first of all Garmin can't be bothered to develop a Linux agent and now to add insult to injury they've removed the manual upload. Thanks Garmin!
  • Hi everyone! I have the same surpise yesterday. Before this I successfully used "Debian + Forerunner 620 + manual upload" more then one year. Last success upload was 19.05.2014, but now I can't do this. Clearing cookies in browser don't help me. Garmin gave bad support for it's production. May be it's time to say Garmin "farewell" and look for another device...

    Founded solution in this forum:
"Clear browser cache (if yiou have the option, only need clear from the time this issue started). Then the manual upload works as normal."

    It's work for me!

Upload started to work today for me too. I didn't have to do any cache remove etc.
  • Hi again. I tried it again and I wasn't able to upload. I cleared all the cookies but it didn't help. When I hover the mouse over the upload button the link I can see says 'connect.garmin.com/transfer/upload'. When I click on it, however, it is redirected to 'connect.garmin.com/en-US/start' and it shows me the screen to tell me that I need to download Garmin Express. No thank you, since there is no Linux version on offer I just want the manual upload to work. How do I get back to the normal upload page? Where does this redirect come from?

I'm getting a bit annoyed now as I have paid quite a lot for the 620 and now I cannot use it! Just because I have recently bought a 620 does not mean that I'm going to buy a Windows or a Mac to go with it.
  • Aleksrunner, how do you clear the cache? Could the redirect that I described above come from the cache? I looked for 'cache' in my browser's preferences but I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had the same problem, no manual upload, and clearing cookies for garmin.com didn't help.

I had success starting a private session though, the manual upload came back. With Ubuntu/Unity you can right click on the firefox launcher, and select "Open a New Private Window"

I had to revert to the paper garmin yesterday due to Garmins latest plugin update - everything was fine till Saturday night :-( extra 20 miles Sunday due to a wrong turn

sort it out GARMIN your becoming GARBAGE for customer service

I'll add uploads are fine but when you go to send course to device it ask's for an upgrade what's the point ?? I need my maps and I don't want to redraw them all again in RWGPS or similair and then copy the file into new files "mainly as it works when it feels like it"
