It appears that Garmin wanted to do an update to the manner in which the "Upload" function was accessed. Unfortunately, at least in my experience, they seemed to have screwed up what was a perfectly functioning feature before this supposed update. All I get now is a redirect to a page that informs me that I need to update my software and re-sync. Fine. I did that and, surprise; when I go back to the home page and go to "Upload", I once again get redirected to that same page. I'm curious as to whether this is something only I'm experiencing or a known issue. If the latter, does anyone have a solution to get past this nuisance?
I've not been able to upload any activities through Garmin Express or manually using the 'Classic' interface for three days. I'm really not impressed by the lack of information from Garmin or the time it's taking to sort out. I have now moved all my historic data to Ride With GPS and at the moment that is where all my future activities are going.
After one week of googling and reading many opinions I found the solution in my case: Vista/Firefox/Forerunner 310 XT.
msconfig/Startup
stop Express Tray.exe
stpo G start
That'all and ANT Agent is working great.
Yes same issue. Express won't even recognise my edge 200 or watch. Worked perfectly on the old connect with ant agent. Now it seems by installing express , ant agent has been removed. Poor show Garmin - sort it out..
I had information stored on my Ant and then after upgrading it deleted all the data and cleared out my watch (no the button to delete items after upload was not select) so now I've lost a bunch on runs!
I am having this problem only on my Windows Vista PC, but not on my new Windows 8 laptop. I am using FireFox on both PC's and the same version (30.0). Strange!
Both Update links point to the same location: connect.garmin.com/transfer/upload.
The reason that it works on my Windows 8 laptop is that I don't have Garmin Express installed. I never had to because I could simple upload the way I used to.
On the PC where it doesn't work I have Garmin Express installed. I was forced to do so, because one day the Upload button directed me to the page were I was asked to install it.
I read in this thread that there are 2 workarounds. One being something with "Time Zone" tool. Can anybody expand on this?
The second workaround mentions a Send option under the File menu in GTC where you supposedly can send an activity directly to GC.
I am using GTC, but could not find this option. The only Send option that I see on the File menu is "Send to device...". The ellipsis suggests that there are further choices to make here, but when I select this option it starts straight away by sending data to the device. I am using the latest GTC version (3.6.5). Am I missing something here?
I am so angry with Garmin I don't even know what to do. My garmin connect has not worked since the end of april- it is now the middle of JUNE!! I have emailed them countless times with no reply. I have rung them with no answer. Their customer service is absolutely appalling.
I've tried a master reset of my Edge 800, but still I get "there was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers" every time I try to upload an activity. There is no "problem communicating" with the ridewithgps.com servers - activities upload fine to there (and I can export the activity from ridewithgps and then manually import it into Garmin Connect, although I'm not going to be doing that for much longer!) Garmin really need to get their act together. There's a lot of competition out there, and they are pushing customer loyalty right to the limits.
In my case Upload via Garmin Express didn't work at first but it does now. Can't remember how I got it to work.
But, with the new method of uploading via Garmin Express, you no longer have the option of uploading TCX files to Garmin Connect, which I truly miss. I need to upload TCX files in cases where two activities are glued together on my Garmin watch (FR305). The only way that I know of splitting them, is by using Garmin Training Center. Using GTC I make two copies of the same activity. Then I remove the unwanted laps from either copy. Then I export the two activities in GTC and upload these files to GC. This workaround is no longer possible with the new method of uploading.
