How do I create a course from a previous activity?

That about sums it up.

I'm using the new Garmin Connect interface, I have synced and uploaded my activities, however, I can't figure out how to convert a previous activity into a course.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Open the activity. Above the map is a menu bar with Share/Export/Compare/Send to device/Save as Course/Print

Select Save as Course. Then click Save

I can't tell from your comment what you're looking at. I'm looking at the Garmin Connect mobile app on an iPhone. When I open an activity, there's no menu bar above the map and nothing else with…

I am new to Garmin too and have exactly the same issue. I have tried the web and IOS version and all I am trying to do is save an activity as a course to save back onto my device. I guess I will have to trawl through YouTube videos now to figure out what should be really simple commands. SOOOO frustrating. It's just not good enough Garmin!

Which Garmin device do you have? Some don't have course or course guidance options. Doing this from Garmin Connect Web is the easiest.

Install Garmin Express on your computer and add your watch to the app
Go to Garmin Connect Web activities page
Click on the title of activity you want to use as a course.

You have 2 options at this point. If you have Garmin Express installed and your watch connected to your computer, click on the cog wheel, then select Send To Device

This will send the activity directly to your device without creating the course on Garmin Connect.
The other option is to Save as Course

This will create the course on your courses page for you to send to your device now (assuming your watch is connected) or at a later time using Garmin Connect Web & Garmin Express or your mobile app.

Couldn't agree more. I've been using Garmin devices for 16 years and they get less and less user-friendly and more and more expensive over time. There is no excuse in 2021 for us to have to go to a webpage to save an activity as a course! The very fact that there is a different forum for the connect mobile app vs the web interface speaks to how overly complicated this ecosystem has become.

You'll have to use the web interface, as discussed here: Create course from previous activity via Android App
